Spreadsheets are so addictive for me.

I like having a diary on here, gives me a place to tantrum and moan without annoying family members. Everyone on here has been so supportive over few years you are all ace. x

  • Hello Lovelies

Welllllll..... What a funny day. I was just telling Lilt on her diary. I spent 9am to 3:30pm doing the most complex spreadsheet for my manager. Well he didn't appreciate it so I sent it to his manager who LOVED it. I basically saved 4 managers a lot of working out. I also got to subtly point out that once I am gone they won't have my spreadsheet expertise anymore nor all the other extra things I do that they conveniently forget when I am in a work review. :rotfl:

Last night was a quiet one really. Played about on my computer while OH was out. Mostly just made sure I didn't fall asleep. I was sooo tired. Watched a program with OH when he got home and then went to sleep about 11pm. Woke up at 5am... Didn't need to.. OH was on day off. Stupid body alarm clock :rotfl:. Did fall back to sleep but still found it really hard to get up this morning. I think I need a number of early nights.

I have no idea what to wear on Friday night. It's my besties' 36th birthday and we are going to a club where she works (discounts!! :money:). My problem is I don't have a fancy dress to wear. I have one but I wore it to her last bday and feel it would be odd to wear it again. I have two black dresses that I am thinking I need to play around with to try and make them more dressy but honestly, got very little time. It's Wednesday, we go out Friday and I don't finish work until 8pm.. I am already feeling tired. Might have to just make myself have a look at things.

Well, it is almost 5pm and I haven't had a break yet. My stomach is not so subtly reminding me that it is overdue some food. :rotfl:

Oh and everyone, always feel free to chat on my diary. I do not mind at all as long as I can join in!

Do you mean fancy dress as in pirates, witches and sponge bob square pants (don't know where that one came from!) or dressed up to the nines?! I'm sure no one would pay any attention to the fact that it's the same dress but I know what us girls are like! You could always wear you hair differently - up if you had it down last year or vice versa, different shoes/bag/accessories?! Or you can never go wrong with a LBD!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £6,450.00

  • Its a dressed up to the nines thing.

I have just spoken to my bestie and I could honestly cry. It is her Bday on Friday and I don't know if I mentioned but she is pregnant. She is in the very early stages and high risk. Apparently she has been to the hospital today and they think there could be three possibilities with her pregnancy. 1. She conceived later than her clear blue pregnancy test suggested. 2. Her baby has stopped developing and she will miscarry very soon or 3. She has an ectopic pregnancy and will need surgery. She finds out Friday morning.. on her birthday.. which one it is.

I told her very determinedly that it was going to be option 1. All the while I have my fingers and toes crossed and praying it will be so. She has been trying for a baby for almost 2 years and she was so so so excited when she tested positive.

Everyone please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for me. I would so appreciate it. If ever there was a time I believe in positive thinking it is now. xxx

Fingers crossed for your friend, hope things work out ok for her.
On the outfit front, I would just go with the same dress or an alternative black dress if you have two, wear a different pair of shoes, or ask some of your other friends (that are not going perhaps) if they have anything you can borrow? I struggle with this option as I'm only 5foot with size 3 feet, but even if they have accessories you can borrow to jazz it up.
Obviously I guess this all depends on whether your friend will still feel up to going out.
  • I am thinking it is important to make sure that I am prepared for either option. I have a simple black dress, its really old. I am sure I can jazz it up somehow.

  • Oh October...

My heart aches for your friend. I found out I was pregnant, unexpectedly. When the shock wore off and Him and I talked it over, across a weekend, we decided things would be fine and we would keep it. I phoned the doctors for an appointment, and went in to see the nurse, happy-scared. After hello, she said "I've had a look at your notes, and you can't keep this baby. You've got to terminate the pregnancy." My whole body went into shock. I signed paperwork for a termination and agreed to call and book it in at a place in a town, 40 minutes away I had never been to. I went home and broke. I was having monthly injections of a drug called Goserelin. A pill, injected into the fat in my stomach, more commonly used for prostate cancer. It was stopping me from taking calcium in, and attacking my bones, breaking them down. You are only allowed it for 6 months and I had been on it for almost 12 by then. Imagine what that would have done to a baby the size of a pea. I had the termination, where they gave me a scan beforehand and told me I was 9 weeks... I saw the baby on the screen and even got a print out of the scan. I didn't cope with it very well and was depressed for a while. I came off the drug simply because I couldn't stand the thought of it any more. And then, 6 months later, I was pregnant again, and had my beautiful Jellytot.

I have my everything crossed that your friend just has her dates wrong, or that the baby starts to grow more quickly and everything goes well from here. But if it is not to be, I am sure that she will get another chance.

Huge hugs for her, and for you. Can't be nice to see her hurting and scared. If you still feel up to going out on her birthday, have you got any statement jewellery that could mix things up??

As for your spreadsheet wonder... :D Proud of you. I know you know mine got canned a few weeks after it was installed, the targets were abolished. I was gutted but still so proud. Your workplace will miss you ;) 'you don't know what you've got till it's gone!'

    xx
