Hi October. It's nice to see you back and feeling better, I've been quiet on here too, which I gave myself a slapped wrist for.
I'm loving the generous friends, I might have to borrow them! :D
  • Nice to see you Mrs T.

Before my LBM, I used to pay for everyone all the time. Just slapped all the costs on the credit card and be done with it. It was nice to have them show that it wasn't taken for granted. I lost a lot of friends when I stopped going out and paying for lots of things. I don't get upset though as it just showed they weren't really my friends.

Glad you had a lovely day with your friends.
Not sure I understand the work review though.

Re work, just think about what you need to do to dot the i's and cross the t's. What would happen if you now decide to do just your contracted hours? Just do what you need to do, before the redundancy paperwork is signed.

If you would like some help with CV etc, would be more than happy to help, that was one of my roles in my last job.

I think my manager just thinks most people will be stepping down to a lower role and therefore performance reviews become relevant. She didn't seem to take into account that I was running two offices practically by myself with members of staff who were unbelievably lazy or ridiculously bad.

Thanks Mrs B. I have a pretty good CV as a friend of mine helped me with it and ironically I have been writing cover letters for other people as apparently I am really good at it. Perhaps a job in recruitment might be a possibility :rotfl:

I have been working my contracted hours this month, mostly because I have been having a trying time with illness etc. I also dont feel like I owe them any favours.

  • Hi Everyone! :j

I tried to write an entry yesterday but the site was being a little weird and I ended up being unable to do it.

Well, not a lot happening at the moment. I told my managers I was accepting redundancy so that was the end of my action plan :rotfl:. So much for self improvement regardless of circumstances. I think the manager doing it just couldn't be bothered. Doesn't show much encouragement for me to keep it up. My last working day will be 27th February and if I am honest, I cannot wait. :T

Got a lot to do tonight as tomorrow my estate agency are sending someone round to do an inspection. I have to clear everything up and make sure there is no signs of my OH living there. He'll be there tomorrow but I am going to make it look like he came round to watch DVDs with me and wasn't there all night :rotfl:. I have seen a 1 bedroom flat that is lovely and in the location we want to be in. It is being let by the same agency so I am tempted to go in and see if they would still need to credit and criminal record check me if I moved. It could save me a lot of money. The deposit is also just one month's rent so with the deposit I payed for my current place it wouldn't be that much extra and moving in costs could be quite cheap. Just not sure if my OH and I can afford it right now. I currently only have a rent of £430 per month all bills included. This flat would be £625 per month, plus bills. We'd be looking at £825 per month including bills.. That's a big increase and with me unemployed.. I dunno. We desperately want to move out of my place. We are cramped and my housemate is driving us crazy. I am also aware that there are 2 bedroom flats out there for £650 per month in a similar location. The £625 one is spacious though and in good condition. Will just have to see.

Anyway, enough rambling for one day, better get on with some work! :rotfl: Have a fab Tuesday everyone!

Letting agent head on here, put all his visible stuff in an overnight bag, especially his toothbrush, deodorant and aftershave. Then don't make a big deal out of it. They can't open drawers or cupboards.
    Will read the rest now!
EDIT: yes to having to be credit checked again, unless property is owned by the same landlord. Agent has to provide up to date refs, but if you have a nice agent they may let you transfer without them.
  • Hi Everyone!

    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Thanks MrsT. The inspection went fine and without incident. I haven't been to the agency about the other flat because I think we could do better than that one. I have seen a number of 2 bedroom places for £25 a month more. I think we need a 2 bed mostly because of my DM coming to stay. If the price is under £600 then I will happily make do with a 1 bed but I dont want to pay the same for 1 when I could get a 2 :) Hope that makes sense..:rotfl:

So I had the last two days off of work and it has been lovely. The flat is spotless, I am pretty much on top of everything and my OH and I are getting on much much better. He is even making an effort to help out more and show that he appreciates the things I am doing for us. He is even trying to be MSE. We went shopping yesterday and we took rolls from home for lunch so that we didn't buy anything out. :T

On the finance side, I had to put petrol in the car this week. I think I have managed almost a month without putting any in so I am pleased. It has meant that yesterday was quite a spendy day. OH and I did our shopping and I was naughty and treated myself to a new tshirt. I wanted a more staple wardrobe of more casual clothes. I am going to make up the money though by selling a nice dress I have on E of Bay. Got a LOT of clothes to go on there as I am fed up of having a wardrobe full of clothes I don't wear. I also need to throw out the shirts and clothes that are getting too worn to sell and too worn to wear. Just got to get the oomph to do it!

I think I am just about back to normal now. I still feel a little tired but I think that is just a woman's issue :rotfl:. I have big plans for next week. Want to really start on dieting and not sure how I am going to do it but I know I have to be strict for a few weeks as I keep cheating/failing at the moment. I will start on the E of Baying too.

Got to take another look at my finances and try for some more NSDs. I think today will be one as I packed my lunch and haven't bought anything. I almost made it an NSD on Wednesday but ended up running out for snacks :o. My packing lunches are going well though so I am proud of myself for that :)

    Have a lovely afternoon everyone!

  • Hello Diary and Lovely Diary Readers!

Well, I feel so happy at the moment and it's wonderful. :j

Having said that, I have some challenges ahead of me. I am really short on money at the moment and had a really annoying bill come through. My DM sent me my 0range bill which was £60 and I nearly had a heartattack. When checking it though, it showed that they were charging me for my first month with Eee Eee. So I was ok with that. £60.00 went out of my account on 12.01.15. Fine. Yesterday I get a text from Eee Eee. Your bill is now available and will come out of your account on 23.01.15  11 days after the last one! I rang them and they said that it was right and that I was paying Jan-Feb. I find it odd that I am paying in advance for my bills. Surely if I then spend money on my phone it will be all messed up? So they agreed to cancel my direct deb and I will make a payment when I get paid my wages on 28.01.15. I am not happy though because I will still have to make two payments in one month. Dont worry if you are thinking my phone bill is massive. I only officially pay half as my OH pays the other half. We have two phones on my contract. Still not happy though.

So I have very little money left for the rest of the month. I am going to try and last with even less as I want the phone money to come out of this month's money rather than next months. I managed an NSD yesterday and I am determined to get one today and maybe even tomorrow but we are running low on milk.

Tonight is my work leaving do/christmas party. We are all going to a chinese buffet. It should be free for me as the company give us £25 for christmas. The meal is £15.00 which leaves me £10.00 for drinkies. Shouldn't be too bad as I won't be drinking alcohol. It'll be a nice evening hopefully.

I am worried about my money this month but I really don't want to dip into my EF as I am going to need it. OH will help me out but I think I have about £100 to last me 11 days. That seems a lot but £36.00 would be phone bill and then I need to get next week's food shopping.. We will see. Going to try for as many NSDs as I can!!

    Have a wonderful day everyone!
