  • Thanks Monz! It's just cos the stress and being down has put a hex on my immune system. I will get over it LOL.

Lucky, I can just picture it and you are probably right!! I'm not too ill, more frustrated than ill. It's the lack of sleep that is getting to me. My patience with blocked noses has never been good. Poor OH better keep his head down LOL.

  • Hi Everyone

Well the doc wasn't much help. She said I needed to get a different brand of over the counter nasal spray. Even though I had asked the pharmacist if there was anything better than I was already using

Looks like I just have to ride it out which is going to drive me nuts. OH really upset me this morning. Woke me up about 5am by shouting at me. Apparently he'd gotten no sleep because I was snoring. I can't breathe properly so to try and sleep I was breathing through my mouth and sat up in bed. I asked him why he didn't wake me and he just avoided the question and kept having a go. I ended up shouting back at him that I was sick and unable to control what I do in my sleep. I was so close to tears as the mornings are the worst for my symptoms and he was making me feel so horrible. I wouldn't mind but when I had my chest infection before Christmas, I actually spent a night on the floor to avoid waking him with my tossing and turning. He never puts himself out for me. Oh and then I had to get up, deice the car and take him to work. He is my least favorite person at the moment, closely followed by the doctor.

I got a text from my boss yesterday evening. She is doing my work review over the phone today just before I am due to finish. Joy.. I really don't see the point if I am honest, good or bad, I leave next month.

Sorry this is such a negative post. I think this is the most down I have been in ages. I have been stressed but mostly able to get on with it. This is my third cold in a month and OH is being mean and the doctor isn't helping. It's getting to me now. I am also really tired which isn't helping.

Sorry everyone. I hope you all have a better day than me.

Sorry to hear you're poorly and OH is being mean. I am a nightmare if someone snores and I can lose my temper. I don't mean to, but I don't sleep very well so I get very stressed if someone keeps me awake. So maybe your OH was tired and stressed. Not trying to excuse his behaviour - well actually I guess I am, if it makes you feel better - if that makes any sense?!

    Hi All

He redeemed himself a little by getting the meds the doc recommended. Weird thing is, she has given me nasal spray for hayfever. I read the bottle though and it says it fights inflamation so can only think that is her reasoning.

I was looking at my loan after reading debt busting posts on the forum and I worked out something. If I used my emergency fund and saved £180.00 a month, I could pay off my debt by December 2015. Problem is, I might not be able to save £180.00 a month and my emergency fund might be eaten up by the lack of job. This is such an uncertain time. It makes planning for the future very difficult.

ETA: I'm not sure how much I have told you about my loan. It is a £5000.00 loan from B'clays, on a 3 year term from Sept 2014. I pay a monthly DD of £160.42 and it has an APR of 9.9%. This means per year I am paying back £1925.04 which includes £258.37 of interest. Now you can't do overpayments as such. What you can do though, is save up and pay it off at once. By doing this you don't pay the interest on the months/years you have left. For example. My current balance stands at £4513.14. If I was to pay it all off today, I would only pay £4568.98. They would charge me £20.20 interest and £35.64 early settlement fee. This would mean instead of the £775.12 interest I agreed to, I would only pay £210.66. Saving myself £564.46. So ideally, the earlier I pay off the loan, the less interest I pay. :T

  • Hope the review went well, but as you say, total waste of time.

My Mum takes hayfever tablets instead of cold relief ones whenever she is bunged up. They work very well, so I hope the spray works for you.

Boo to OH indeed! I'm another who hates snoring (infact just hearing breathing makes me mad, I know, I'm weird), but I would never be horrible to the person if it was because they were sick. Drunk, maybe....

  • Hello Lovelies!

Sorry I have been MIA the last few days. The nasal spray seemed to do the trick but now I am blowing my nose like a mad woman. :rotfl:. I think I have used about three boxes of tissues and countless little packets. I am on the mend though and hopefully this will be the last cold for awhile!!

I had Thursday off and I ended up heading to the shops with OH. I took Gert (my shopping trolley) and we got some things in Leedal and the 1p less than £1 shop. Did treat us to some coffee in c0sta but got a loyalty card with them now. We bought some things in Sainsbobs too. Was quite a spendy day but I am trying to get meals more organised. We had lunch at home of bacon rolls (bacon from Leedal) and had chicken pie which we had with oven chips for dinner. The chicken pie was on offer 2 for £6 from Sainsbobs so I put one in the freezer.

We had burgers the next day but shamefully I didn't make us lunch so we ended up buying lunch :( I am trying to make us as many lunches as possibel to save money and to not waste food. I got a couple of basics stuff that I thought was a bargain. I got some fromage frais for 45p and some chopped tomatoes for 35p each. I think we should switch the the basic brands as much as possible at the moment as they are pretty good a lot of the time.

I had yesterday off work too and it was lovely. I walked with Gert to my local shops where I met my friend. We went to Weatherforks as they are cheap and cheerful for a coffee. I hadn't eaten breakfast so I was looking at the menu trying to justify spending the money. She offered to pay for my breakfast so in the end I didn't spend anything! :T We went around the shops and I went to Leedal again and got some more bacon and some burgers to go in the freezer and when we went into b00ts they had OH's shower gel at half price so I bought him a few as he was on his last bottle. I was pleased and so was he when I took them home.

My other friend messaged me to say she was in town and did I want to meet her for lunch. As my two friends know each other we headed into town on the bus and my other friend treated me to lunch :j!! It was a lovely day and good to catch up with my friends.

I am feeling a lot more positive again and I think that is mostly due to feeling better. I had my work review on Thursday night. Apparently I have been rubbish all year even though I have worked harder this year and done more hours this year than I have in my entire life. Its good to feel appreciated :wall:. She kindly told me that I would get a higher performance grade next year as I would be stepping down... hahahahahaha :rotfl: OH HELL NO!!

So yes, all is relatively calm in October world and I am looking forward to my spaghetti Bolognaise tonight. I got a batch out of the freezer. I am getting better at remembering to take dinner out of the freezer in the morning. Today isn't an NSD either as I need to get some sausages (again for the freezer) but hoping that I can go a couple later on this week. We'll see :)

    Have a great day everyone!

    October xx
