I have a personalised paper weight that says "Mrs Claus" and has little snowflakes on it. Dh got it me as a stocking filler a few years back, and this is my number one wrapping aid - great for holding the paper in place whilst I [STRIKE]take a sip of my wine[/STRIKE] tear off the cello-tape!
I like to use double sided tape wherever possible. Im not very good with ribbon, so I tend to use bows and bits of curling ribbon instead.
Love this thread, I cannot wait until 2 weeks today when I officially start my wrapping ritual! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
I love everything about Christmas. I was in Costco on the weekend & they have so many different Christmas ribbons, I wanted to buy all of them. So pretty!! x0

I am obsessed with wrapping.
My boyfriend loves wrapping too, but only because its xmassy... and last year I got in a mood because his wrapping wasn't very neat. Really ruined the xmas mood that evening!!
I spend ages finding the right xmas paper... same with xmas cards - they need to be 'me' haha:wave:0 -

I've been so good for so long! Years ago a site had an offer for a ton of rolls of studio Christmas paper for a very small price (can't remember fully but might of been 20 rolls for a few pounds), of course I couldn't just order one set so since then I've been making my way through it (I'm sure there must of been a miles worth if all rolled out end to end) so I've not brought any more for years...until today!
I have no idea if it will work but I brought some faux silk fuchsia curtains (£2.99) and black metallic paper. I'm thinking of cutting the fabric lining out and then making some form of bow from the silk and putting it on plain black gifts. I also got a couple of Christmas fabric runners for £0.40 to use like wrapping paper. Has anyone used fabric like this before? What did you do?
To the poster who is allergic to tape, I treated myself last year (it felt like an extravagance although I think they were only £2) to sticky circles designed for wrapping, they seem more like sticky black plastic than cellotape, I wonder if you would be allergic to them?
Where were your dots from?Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
The tape dispenser is great, my hubby bought me one last year to wrap the Christmas presents with and it was fab not to have little bits of tape stuck to everything around me. I'm a stickler for square edges and patterns matching up too
I am definitely going to use the Santa wrapping idea for the present the kids get off Santa so thank-you 7roland8. I am getting all excited about wrapping now, and am going to check my paper haul to make sure i have plain red, I always wrap the Santa present in different paper but this is even better.0 -

Also some people do it more complicated - if you google santa belt wrapping you will see some people add white ribbon down the front and black dots as buttons - or even actual buttons - the sky's the limit.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
I love wrapping presents. I get myself set up in kitchen on work tops, wrapping paper on my far left, ribbon and tags next to me then space to work and things to wrap behind me. You can then get quite a production line going. This all happens with Christmas music on and only me n dog in the house.0

I really love wrapping too- I find it so satisfying getting everything wrapped just right and putting it into pretty gift bags. The only problem I have is my pet rabbit, who insists on "helping"!0

I love wrapping Christmas presents, too. Essentials include: Christmas CD or cheesy Christmas DVD; hot drink in Christmas mug; Christmas scented candle; paper, tags, bows, ribbons galore and two cat "helpers!" It's starts off as cute fun but eventually gets to the frustrating phase....
I like adding an extra small gift to the outside of the parcel eg tucking a candy cane under the ribbon, attaching a tree decoration or Christmas chocolate.
In the past, I've made simple bags out of Christmas fabric from the market. You can just tie a ribbon round them to seal them - no need for a drawstring if you don't want to. The present inside can be left unwrapped or simply wrapped in tissue paper.
My other favourite is buying beautiful boxes from TK Maxx - they make a lovely present in themselves - and filling them with presents. My parents and in-laws have everything they want so I buy stuff that is practical or edible eg festive tissues, festive tea towels, posh pasta etc. They loved my handknitted cotton dish cloths!
I'm getting in the mood, but nothing to wrap yet...
