If you read the coupons, you'll see they aren't supposed to accept them unless you buy the product - so why not just be grateful some branches take them!

If you force them to make a nationwide policy, then it's obvious what the outcome will be!

Went to a local Tesco store today and she refused to take any of my vouchers. Did offer to get a supervisor but I was in a hurry so had to leave it at that. Wish they'd make up their mind exactly what the policy is.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

Tesco are really good with accepting vouchers generally. Some of the staff are a little misinformed with regards company policy though. Have saved tons with coupons from Tesco.

    Well done Alison  ::)

  • Just come in from the weekly shop at Tesco's. I only handed in one internet voucher for 25p off Surcare. I was told they do not accept these vouchers. The assistant shouted to the other till operators causing them to stop and ask other operators and so on, customers turned to stare at me as if I was handing in a dud £50 note. All the time the voucher was stood on the top of two packets of Surcare. I did not get the 25p off maybe it was the fact that it was a BOGOF. Savers take the vouchers anyway. Will I be shopping at Tesco next week??????
  • Last week was TESCO's turn so this week we tried ASDA, same routine two trolleys and two sets of coupons.

My till operator tried to scan the coupons and after it failed to read them called the supervisor who advised 'we do not accept Internet coupons, only IF you have bought the item' - Bummer

meanwhile the wife sailed through without a hitch saving £3.85 - Result!

I think the problem here is the bar code scanning thing! If it would read them then I think the 'question' of validity would not even cross the till operators mind.

Can anyone advise if your printed coupons scan succesfully?

I am now getting to work on my bar codes with Paintshop Pro to improve my printed quailty.

I went to the local Stroud Tesco armed with my internet coupons, obtained through this site. The woman on the till was very pleasant, called the manager, I was taken over to the Customer Services while they followed it up.

The Manager or his deputy took away the coupons plus the "instructions" from Head Office, which I went equipped with in case of problems and made enquiries.

Answer, no, we will not accept any of these. You have to buy the items. I suggested that they checked with Head Office, to which she told me that she did and noone had heard of "Lesley McRae, Customer Service Manager" I suggested that it was unlikely that Lesley McRae had disappeared in the last fortnight, as this information had been obtained very recently.

    So
    zero savings!

Are we sure therefore that this is a bona fide Tesco statement?

:If Aberdeen Tesco do not accept. Inverurie do, perhaps try the manager.

I would like to know any tips on finding internet vouchers other than the ones posted on this site.

We have saved about £30 by using the internet vouchers over the past three weeks. They do not scan and the numbers have to be manually keyed in. Yet yesterday not one of the vouchers were accepted even after the numbers were keyed in. Is it just hit and miss or have Tesco decided not to accept them anymore? :-/

Let me be honest, I've nicked all this information from the Tesco Vouchers thread.  However I thought it was so good, and that is now such a long discussion, for the sake of clarity it needed its own thread.

The key fact: Tesco will honour internet printed vouchers in its store, providing the vouchers are for items it stocks.  And the best thing about internet vouchers is they can be printed again and again and .... again

The sneaky fact While you are meant to actually buy the products to get the discount, often they will simply just accept all vouchers whether you bought the product or not and discount it from your shopping (tesco has confirmed this, but not all stores follow it).

The Convenience Voucher  First of all Alison6992 got her mate to put all the available Tesco vouchers onto one sheet of paper and then put it on the web here - http://www.antax.co.uk/vouchers.doc

What if Tesco says no to the vouchers The first thing to say is Tesco head office has a stated policy that it will accept internet vouchers - though this isn't always known by shop floor staff.  MoneySaver Cathy received the following reply from head office

Note to those new to MoneySavingExpert.com Welcome.  This is the Chat Forum, where people suggest ways to save money. There is also the main siteFull of articles about saving money plus there you can sign up to Martin's Money Tips, each week an up to date email with ways to save money like this.  And as always with this site it is completely free to use and completely free of advertsising.

    "Thank you for your e-mail.

I have checked into the policy regarding internet vouchers and have been advised of the following information.

The policy of the internet coupons is the same as any brand coupon.  With regard to coupons from brand name manufacturers, we are happy to accept
one, even if you have not purchased the product.

However, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the item. If you present more than tne identical coupon, then you must purchase the same
    number of products

    Kind Regards
