    Evening.

Done nothing really all day. We went to meet up with DH's cousin who lives in Oman but visiting rellies in Sheffield, so spent a lovely few hours with them in a park, and caught up with them and met their little boy for the 1st time.

Then, when we came home, i made a cooked meal for us to eat early as DH is now at work (Birmingham tonight), so i have to look forward to an evening to myself with the washing up. :D

I think what i might do is have a crack at tidying the kitchen up tonight, and then just leave hoovering the floor for tomorrow. I have also got to wrap up the DVD i sold to post tomorrow. Then an early night for me i reckon as all that fresh air has worn me out, and also worked wonders on Charlie as he went down with minimum fuss which makes a lovely change from the past few nights of fuss. ;)

Anyway, off to do something so its done, and then will be catching up with the new thread later on i think.

hugs all round, and congrats to dusty kitten, plus thanks for saying how you give the kids pocket money as that sounds fab to me. :T

    Hi all,

I'm dead chuffed with myself I must say.

I finally made some curtains for my kitchen!!
I've got two glass pane cabinets, and through all our browsing in IKEA the past week I found the perfect fabric. I've always wanted a 'country feel' kinda kitchen, and this white/blue checked fabric fits perfectly!

DH was kind enough to help me by putting the hooks in place that I needed and it looks FAB!! I'm SO chuffed!

Did a fair bit of tidying up today and cleaned the downstairs floors. But with all the rain chucking down here in holland, it won't stay clean for long unfortunately.

    oh well

    Quite pleased with myself.

In that 45 minutes, i have:
    • cleaned kitchen sink
    • washed up all of todays dishes
    • cleaned top of cooker
    • sterilised and made up bottles
    • put out recycling
    • emptied kitchen bin
    • threw out my dead flowers and washed up the vase and put away
    • put DH's trainers back in shoe cupboard
which isn't bad at all. I'm just debating whether to nip outside for 20 minutes and do some weeding as it is atrocious and DH's best friend is coming to stay next weekend. Part of me is thinking it is not my friend, and as DH has done very little in the house i should just leave it, but then the other part of me is thinking well if i don't do some, then no-one will.

I think i might just go out and see what i can put in one carrier bag and then leave it at that,

New thread is UP http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=5879412#post5879412 welcome to hippychick, hope you enjoy your time with us.

Aimee, wow well done, you'll hate me for mentioning this too late but I bought £1 shop grass seed, never seen something grow so fast! Probably helps with the weather but if you need more would suggest looking there first if you have one near.

Becca well done with the curtains, I've been saying I'll make some for DS1 under his bed for ages but still not braved it :o

Solwaykid, well done on the using up, my waste got worse over the last few weeks but I am planning to change it, silly things like forgetting to freeze bread, left over carrots that went to waste etc.

Michelle, well done, that's some going in 45 minutes :D

Dusty great news on the new job, give your OH a big sloppy one from us as a well done, actually don't he might take ill and not be able to go :rotfl:

Shirley (((huge hugs)) my parents are in the same situation at the mo, I know it can be hard as I usually have on or the other on the phone each day saying the other has done something, never easy, fingers crossed you get a quick sale my parents have been waiting over a year now :(

We're all back safely from the airshow which I thoroughly enjoyed being into aircraft, unfortunately kids and DP had enough before it was finished but mean't we got back for the park and ride a little earlier, know this was for the best seeing how much worse the queues got. Also had tea out then kids started dozing in the car (unlike DS1 but he'd not had a good night last night) Weather was ok, few showers then hail when driving back, yes HAIL stones, bouncing off the car not us thankfully! We ended up on the beac at first, next time must take spare clothes and towel, no point saying to the boys don't get wet as it just doesn't/didn't happen. Luckily DS2 had short on under trousers but had to do a nudey change on the beach which he wasn't impressed with :rotfl: Sandy clothes will go in the wash after the cushion covers from dogs bed, one was ill in the hall this morning, no idea which but ewww!

DP now out dropping the track off for the another club, would rather that than it go to waste but of course costing me in petrol grr. Chairs to collect for ours tomorrow, yet again using my petrol, hopefully once things are set up this will happen much less often.
One day I might be more organised...........
