Hippychick, welcome!
Don't expect your house to be spotless in the first week.. or even stay spotless for that matter, especially not with little ones around. :rotfl:
But before you know it, your family too will ask if you're feeling alright..
:rotfl:
have fun, and tell us what you're up to.0 -
Welcome to the thread Hippychick, sit back and enjoy today and jump in when the new list goes up later for the brand new week!
I've sat and updated my month end finances (grim) and then my August expected outgoings (grimmer) and said a quick prayer to the god of backpay. The unions don't usually approve it 'til later in the year which is nice in time for Christmas spends but I heard we might get it in this months pay.
I've also done a 2 week meal plan based on what's in and now I'm off for a mass cook-in so's I don't let fresh stuff go to waste and freezer session for those too tired to cook evenings (Mon - Fri then..)
If it stays nice I might get to do some hacking and chopping. Overly ambitious here I come.

Argh I am so ****** off. All week the ex has been going on about being in limbo and hassling me about whether or not I'm going to buy this house. Yesterday he did f-all, infact he didn't even get dressed. Today he's gone over to a mates house. He huffed and puffed when I asked him to pull the raw plugs out of the wall so I could finish off the stripping the paper and sealing the plaster in the lounge today.
I was supposed to sit my exam on friday, I moved it to the end of August instead because of the whole house situation and it looks like I'm going to have to move it again, because I don't have time to study.
For someone who wants to move on he really isn't doing anything to help move it along. He's also going to get nearly 10K out of the house being sold, which of course he's already worked out what he wants to spend it on!!
Sorry I just needed to rant. Now time for some shopping therapy.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
shirleypark hugs to you my lovely you must feel really stuck at the moment, rant all you like as far as I'm concerned, hope it is sunny where you are.
Happychick welcome. I would second starting with us on the new thread tomorrow. In case you had not realised we do all rooms in rougly the same order each week. Monday will be kitchen. It is so much easier to keep things clean once you get on top of the tidying so my tip would be tidy (not clean) you kitchen today removing all the stuff which should live in another room to make tomorrow more productive.
Nearly done the unpacking, 2nd wash on the line.
Polished my sink to inspire me to get the kitchen straight and swished and swiped.
Planning on getting the kitchen tidy for tomorrow followed by the study so that I can get the downstairs cleaned this week.
Planning on thoroughly sorting one child's room each Friday in the holidays and then doing all the toys to see what is still played with and what can be sold at the autumn NCT sale.
Right another 10 minutes trying to see the kitchen table and then a treasured 30 minutes outside deadheading. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Welcome hippychick.. glad you found your way over.. I hate housework too... painted nails and pretty shoes are certainly WAAAAY higher on my list of 'musts' than wiping the bath taps!!! I am a pig.. and proud(ish) of it... until I realise we have visitors in 3 hours and the house looks like a war zone.. my little reason is there is one of me trying to clean 10 peoples mess and there are simply not enough hours! I have pics on a few of the other threads of various 'states' in my house.. the 'middle room' is the bane of my life and it is the summer holiday project to clear it.. so far I've done about 3 hours and the odd binbag full.. and today is too nice to be sitting in that dingy room.
We do have a few rules though...
Slacking IS allowed sometimes
ME-TIME is VITAL!!!
No playing catch up.. if you miss it it'll come round again next week so don't stress!!!
((((hugs)))) .. this is the first day of you having a 'new home'.. kitchen is usually a Monday job.. just so you can have a heads up for tomorrow..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hi Pigpen - I'm confused - is that this week you are still working on or are you getting ahead for the coming week?
Kids and cats are pesting it is teatime so have come in from the garden. I have filled my garden waste bin - I get as much joy doing this as some of you do from filling bin bags!
DS1 cut the grass - it is lovely and neat but the checky monkey has cut a short strip right down the centre to making a cricket crease!
Jobs means cash in this house. New system in place, each child has a pot and are given tasks for the day. When the tasks are done the cash goes in the pot. No playing catch up - you cannot carry jobs over, don't do them, miss out on that days pay. This is how they get their pocket money.
GREAT NEWS OH has been offered the job he went for an interview for. This is such a weight off our minds and will drastically improve the cash situation. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Well done Dustykitten's OH, that's really good news0

Afternoon all, well actually its evening.
Welcome to Feisty_Fairy and hippychick
Rach hope it doesnt cost too much to sort out.
Shirley - we are here for the rant, completely understand my ex was like that when it came to moving out when we split up. We didnt have a house to sell but he was a complete looser when it came to doing things to get out.
Solway - fingers crossed for backpay!
Everyone else i hope youve enjoyed your weekend.
Today i woke up at 6.30am - why i dont know, but i was ready to start the day. After sitting doing sod all i got out in the garden at 9am and have only just come in absolutely shattered. Ive- moved the decomposing log pile which was taking up all of the path, bashing it up and distributing it around the garden as compost (took 3hrs)
- Weeded the whole garden pulling up the ivy that was taking over
- Cut the hedge (took 1.5hrs)
- Chopped back a tree that was taking over
- Went to the Focus and spent £42.50 on some grass seed for where i reclaimed the grass from the ivy. Bought 6 roses and then planted them. Bought 6 huge pots of herbs and planted them.
- Mowed the lawn
Hope everyone has a chilled out evening and see you on the next thread.
Edit: Woop Woop for Dustys OH!0 -
Crikey Aimee, I think you've earned that take away, well done!
And Dusty, for filling your garden bin and OH's new job. Hats off to the Garden Flyladies today.:T
I managed to do some dead-heading after I read Dusty's post but I'm lacking in energy today so that's it.
I spent a couple of hours in the kitchen this morning and the freezer is well and truly stuffed. Didn't have enough bananas for b'bread so a couple of shrivelled grated apples went in too. Nothing wasted today!
Shirleypark, I hope the retail therapy helped and you don't have to put up with the situation for too much longer.
I'm just going to bath and slob tonight, feel a bit snivvely and achey. See you all on the new thread. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400
