Depends whether you post another thread complaining about people moaning and get taken seriously :rotfl:

    LOL.

Not many posters seem to have grasped the irony there. I thought it was a good article though.

So we came to a decision.

I'm going to sell posh ready meals and, if I can get away with it, sell them as hot food too at Farmers Markets. Target market is dual workers with kids and older people. I might also make and sell chutney etc as a bit of a side line from time-to-time.

Start at Farmers Markets but also sell online. Start off producing from home. Have recipes for all the products online to show that it really is all good wholesome food.

My limited experience with older people tells me that they don't eat a lot. So, small portions.

And you may need to avoid salt.

Good luck. I hope your new venture is the terrific success you deserve.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Sounds like you've definitely got yourself a plan there indeed :T

Will you need to have any changes to your kitchen to comply with h&s rules etc?

Sounds like a great idea. These Guys did a similar thing, but with high quality frozen meals.

I used their products for a lot of my entertaining for my 60th a few weeks ago, and saved a fortune on getting Caterers in, which is what I originally intended.

We're moving after we get back from the UK so will get somewhere with this in mind. We're going to move (renting so no gin sadly) to just south of Sydney. It's a lovely part of the world, really very nice indeed.

Because it's quite a lot cheaper than Sydney itself we should be able to get quite a lot for our money including a perfectly suitable kitchen. We'll sell the car to buy a van and I should be able to pick up a display freezer and a bain marie pretty cheaply at auction.

The plan is to get a 3 month extension on my contract which I've already been offered. We'll move out of here in December to move in with the in-Laws.

Ah yes, I meant to say that the food will be frozen.

What a worrying time LIR....but glad you got it sorted. These things should not really happen but it does not surprise me one little bit, one of my roles when me and now ex were together was checking any medication he was prescribed, did not contra indicate with ones he was already taking or with his conditions.

They didn't get it right at quite an alarming rate.

I was once prescribed something when I was pregnant which, if I had taken it, would have led to a late miscarriage/stillbirth and it was only because I had got so into a routine of checking medications that I picked up on it.

My news today - I am now the proud owner of an additional bannister/handrail on the stairs plus two grab rails by the back door. He couldn't do my halfstep or the rails outside the front door as it needed several hours to dry in dry weather and it was about to pee it down.

Glad to hear about your new rails, Sue. Hope you find them helpful. :)

Lir, your medical and pharmaceutical difficulties are being to remind me of your heating system. You seem to me to be too accepting of situations that are actually completely unacceptable. Please do "make a fuss" as other posters are encouraging you to.

I will add my own "medical staff getting drugs wrong" little anecdote. When DS was in hospital a few years ago having the metalwork taken back out of his arm, we told them he's allergic to paracetamol. They gave him a red wrist band to indicate that he had some restrictions on what he could have, and labelled it accordingly. Not once did I see a member of staff bother to look at it. As the morphine was wearing off, one after another after another of them attempted to give him paracetamol, and he and I had to keep stopping them and explaining that he couldn't have it, and please would they get him some ibuprofen instead.

    Good luck Gen. :)

I agree with both GDB's suggestions. Salt is easy for people to add more of if they want it, and impossible to remove if they either don't like it or have high blood pressure or something and need to avoid it.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
