..this is not good at all.
As I have read further down and see you did get it 'sorted' so to speak.......I am now reading that they 'forgot' your surgery *shocked*.
I recall a nurse at Kings last year urging my step father to 'make a fuss' and not let her get discharged....as my mother was literally dying in front of us and she said , exact words
'they will forget about you'.
I know FIR will do whatever needs to be done here so I am confident you will get this all sorted.
In the end I put my big girls pants on and spoke to GP alone, while for was trapped in not a client crisis but a junior staff member one.
Good for me to have to deal alone. Hearing was an issue on the call especially as GP seemed to be struggling with my spelling drug name ( using phonetic alphabet) but I couldn't quite hear where problem was as he wasn't using phonetic alphabet back, so I just had to keep starting again. :rotfl: little bit comedic.0 -
commiserations lir. when you need everything pulling in the right direction it is frustratingand upsetting to battle for basic standards to be met and finding the energy to complain can seem an effort too far. ((hugs))
I'm so terribly sorry if it makes sense to you.I think and hope that you are in a stronger position as you understand how systems should work....for me its uncertain ground in the big system. All I know Is that I think its rough out there.
Its situations like this and constant bad news that lead to my iatrophobia, which I think really is expanding to include more and more beurocratic system, not just medical.
Edit: otoh I also feel a less nannying approach to things is good and patients SHPULD take responsibility for understanding their drugs etc. something pretty unique IME to uk is the defensiveness when one asks questions here about options and drugs etc, I think its because so many Brits are a accepting of 'doctor knows best' attitude and don't take much responsibility for themselves, and I do think our system encourages that attitude.0 -
Dear LiR, I'm so sorry to hear you've had problems with your meds. Aaarrggghhh what a nightmare. It most certainly should not have happened. They should be reported.
Hugs, Mags0 -

The Grandtwins came round this afternoon.
One told us about school (Church school)... "Mr B talks a lot to us about cheeses."
??? Urm, feeling out of comfort zone here - why would teacher talk often about cheese?
He talks a lot about a bloke called cheeses in assembly.
OH and self have been laughing like drains about this ever since we realised who Cheeses was.

What a worrying time LIR....but glad you got it sorted. These things should not really happen but it does not surprise me one little bit, one of my roles when me and now ex were together was checking any medication he was prescribed, did not contra indicate with ones he was already taking or with his conditions.
They didn't get it right at quite an alarming rate.
I was once prescribed something when I was pregnant which, if I had taken it, would have led to a late miscarriage/stillbirth and it was only because I had got so into a routine of checking medications that I picked up on it.
My news today - I am now the proud owner of an additional bannister/handrail on the stairs plus two grab rails by the back door. He couldn't do my halfstep or the rails outside the front door as it needed several hours to dry in dry weather and it was about to pee it down.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
