It's always dark in Scotland at this time of year, so no one will notice

The only difference is that the sun is being eclipsed by the moon rather than the earth.

I've an MoT booked, something was bugging me about it and then I realised I usually have a service and MoT at the same time. So then I started wondering whether I [a] needed a service (1 year, 2500 or so miles max) .... and if I should phone to reschedule ... or what.

Decided to just have the MoT anyway - will speak to them and if they can offer a service today I'll leave it there.

One handy thing is it's just 200 yards away. One of the plus points of this location.

My car is saying its overdue a service by 18k miles, it hasn't been serviced by a garage in my time but I have serviced it myself so no biggy. As for service history me and this car are together until death (which ever one of us first). Its a 54 plate and approaching 35k miles so I want another 10-15 years minimum. :D

Quadruple day tomorrow: eclipse (obvs), equinox, moon is at its perigee (closest it gets to earth) & it's my wedding anniversary although clearly Mrs Generali has some input too.

Yes. The interviewer now wants to decide whether he actually needs anyone at all. I'm not impressed. Mrs Generali is going to insist on expenses as that was not the deal that she flew up for.

She had a minor RTA today that I put down to tiredness as a result. (Everyone and everything is okay).

It might be quick, but over the lifetime of the product it's an expensive way :)

I don't do anything on my car, it's diesel too.

But, there goes £350+ I won't see again; got there and booked it in for its first major service since I've owned it ... felt I was winging it by having the cheapest one every year for five years and so the odds were against me. As I don't use it much it's more likely to become problematical. :(

Given the age you should probably fork out for a cam belt change if you haven't had one too :(
    I think....
