Yes, I was definitely too greedy.. I had it as a few cups, and not mindfully, which is quite unlike me . If I had done what I consider wise, put it in my favourite bowl and enjoy it.....it may have been a better, or at least better gauged outcome. All I can say is I'm not myself ATM. I'm enjoying having my time to myself but struggling with scheduling a bit.
. Tomorrow having breakfast should help. ( even though I'll be grumpy and not feeling like breakfast I'm going to try as I think it probably is the answer)

Struggle, but not experience a huge weight loss just because they've lost their microflora! The yoghurt stuff is to try to replace the microflora so other microbes don't take hold (e.g. it's common to get thrush after taking antibiotics for a urinary tract infection).
GDB: I'm pretty sure that bacterial cells are a lot smaller than mammalian ones, so even though we're outnumbered, the bacteria might not be that weighty.
Tis just so.
When you're born, your mothers milk contains extra sugars you can't digest but benign "friendly" bacteria can, so they'll start to colonise you. When they occupy all the ecological niches on your body it makes it harder for troublesome ones to settle on and bother you.
Farmers used to utilise antibiotics to help poultry to grow faster. It works but is an irresponsible waste of a precious resource. Besides you'd never know if the long-term effects were really bad on the birds as they'd be slaughtering them as soon as they could profit from it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Happy Ma's Day, as DD2 always calls it, to all the mothers on the thread
A belated thank you, ivyleaf, and special best wishes to all NP who would like (or would have liked) to be mothers but aren't, or aren't yet.lostinrates wrote: »My father went to register me alone and misspelt a maternal family name. My relaxed attitude towards my name being misspelled started early. My mother's attitude was not relaxed. Nope, not one bit.
LNE got my dad's name wrong when he told the vicar what to write on our marriage certificate - we had our dads as witnesses. My dad has two middle names, and LNE got the 2nd one of them slightly wrong - he put a different name that begins with the same first two letters and ends with the same last two letters but has a different middle. My dad didn't notice, so that's what it say on the certificate and in the register. Maybe it will confuse our descendants in a couple of hundred years when they're researching their ancestry!I remember getting home, putting DD in her carrytot down on the kitchen floor and wondering what happened next. There was always someone around in hospital!
I remember feeling like that too!
LNE registered both ours without me or the baby being present. I've no idea where he had to go to do it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

There is the really interesting recent research where people have seen weight gain / loss following attempts to introduce different gut bacteria with the suggestion that the whole fast/slow metabolism thing may be to do with which bacteria ones gut is colonised by.I think....0 -
I was registered rather quickly, if they did it too late I would have been a german national!lostinrates wrote: »So, I cannot have the surgery where I thought I was going to have it.....where the consult phys and endocrinologist want it, NHs trust won't pay for it there for some reason.
I have no strong feelings either way any more. I'm going to meet someone at yet another hospital in two months. They have also expressed concern about my psychological state and making decisions about such surgery. Pfft. Different way of thinking is not damaged, and this is what I REAlLY dislike about biscuit cutter Britain of now. If I were perfectly well I'd hold the same views.
Sending hugs. Hope it all turns out better than you dream of.In my day, it was almost always the case that married women took their husband's surname, but they might continue using their maiden name for work.
I know a lady who had two children with her partner. They never married. The partner died in a RTA, and eventually she changed her surname so it would be the same as the children's.
I took LNE's surname. I was perfectly happy having it while we were together, but now I'd like my own name back. I don't want it badly enough to change to be different from my children, though, so for now I'm stuck with his. I gave up using Mrs when he left though. It just doesn't feel right any more, so I use Dr all the time. When I first got the Dr bit I only used it professionally, and stuck with Mrs where the Dr thing wasn't relevant, but at this stage of my life I rather like the way Dr sidesteps the question of my marital status completely, without even being obvious about refusing to reveal it, in the way I feel Ms would.
Didn't we discuss this before? Ages ago? I have vague memories of the NP having a wide range of opinions and practices on the matter, but I may be imagining that.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Yes we did Lydia.
Discuss names.
Interesting timing though. My own name name account holding bank did a fraud check on mine for various reasons and I have been asked for simplicity to change my name on my account. They will still accept payments ( rare as they are) to miss oldname but it looks like I'm about to be mrs rates pretty much everywhere.
I'm fully bought in to being mrs rates, but its funny how letting go of old name completely is a bit of an odd feeling.0 -

Yay! Excellent post.I'm both excited and slightly nervous for tomorrow....Josh, the one known for drumming, is singing at the chamber concert.
That might seem weird to others but singing was his original instrument, he won competitions for it but then he discovered drumming and how it calmed him down, then lost his confidence and wanted to just hide behind the drum kit. Now, his confidence is growing and he doesn't want to hide so much anymore.
Yay! Go Josh. :TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Errr...why???
I am a forces baby born out in Germany, if they didn't register me I would be claimed by the germans, hence my nationality is british and not english. (Got an extended birth certificate and of course my driving license does list Germany as my place of birth to add confusion for some)
I have a dad born in Salford and an mum and brother both born in Oldham.
But going back to being a small world, there was a kid in my class in primary school born in the same hospital and when we where registering to get married the registrar looked at my birth certificate and she knows the person who signed it.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

That's shocking!
Even worse than the computer system at Curry's when I signed up for a mobile dongle, which gave me options of, IIRC, single, married, divorced or other. I said widowed. The sales assistant said did I want to be entered as "other". I said I supposed so, since the other options were all clearly wrong. I was duly entered into the system as "other" and then it crashed. The assistant phoned the helpdesk, who said the crash was caused by putting "other" for marital status, so we had to start all over again. I consented to be entered as single, but I was distinctly unimpressed.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
