Oh dear, sorry to hear that lir
ETA Nikkster I could hear shouting while Sophie Raworth was talking, but couldn't make out the words. That comes of having older ears, I suppose. Agape - was it a faith school you were at today?0 -
Poor, poor you! Can you keep nothing down at all?
DW is not feeling very well. I can cope with her being unwell, but tired and under the weather is not something I know what to do about.
Yes, I kept food down all weekend, ( including scampi, and steak, an omlette, some roasted rhubarb and cream....so none of it particularly light! ) Its just hot and miss and really unpredictable. I think this was gluttony induced. I had the wholE packet of soup, ( bought tub of soup) so two servings. More than one portion certainly..
What I can always seem to eat is popcorn and now we discover, crisps. This however is not very healthy nor lir happy food. Whilst I might survive on it it will also kill me, so .....not a choice I want to make.
Tomorrow morning I'm planning an omlette on the basis that I need to eat and not be being unwell in the after noon when I am busy and active, so don't want to be fainty if possible, and if I'm going to be 'stomachy' need to get it out of the way before midday. The omlette was successful at the weekend so if it isn't tomorrow then at least I've tries something that has worked. Bought soup was working before but this was a different brand of bought chicken soup.....so it might be I'm worn out chicken soup or it might be that it was that brand. In either case, I'm not going to try again tomorrow for breakfast.
It might just be that adjusting to the vit d is unsettling me a bit. Things do seem to go to my stomach. I wouldn't mind at all if I lived of my stores a bit and my body put this into practise, instead I just shut down and get bad breath as my body says ' its key, key, key something isn't it? Ketosis? Nah...can't remember.....just go to sleep and shut of the fuel to a kidney and some liver function. Oh yeah, and nerves to limbs, she doesn't need them, not really....done without them before, she can do with out them again, what's really important here, is preserving these FAT cells! And these broken bits, get some more fluid round these swollen bits, its obviously not enough, pump out some hormones, ready? Right.....put her to sleep...... ":rotfl:0 -
Not sure about the mass, but we have more bacterial cells in us than human ones.
Really? Could I lose a load of weight if I got rid of the bacteria?
I don't recall people fading away like that just because they take an antibiotic, though.
The things we learn on this forum.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_microbiota. Says our human cells are outnumbered ten to one by bacteria. Hopefully, the bacteria are itty bitty little ones that don't weigh a lot. Otherwise, my human cells are doing an awful lot of work hauling around a load of freebooters that, quite frankly, I would resent. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Thanks Gen, but they've already tried that
Sometimes there is just a hiccup in the system. Fir got a text I sent him on Monday morning yesterday evening. Sometimes he thinks that the gremlins in the system like to keep the most interesting ones of mine for a once over before sendin them on.
Which is interesting, because those same gremlins hang on to the practical ones, like, ' don't rush the train is twenty minutes late' or ' can we take a rain check meeting for coffee today?' That I should receive from people. :mad:0 -

Well, people can and do struggle after taking antibiotics! That's why people often take yogurt after antibiotics to help with difficulties in digestion, why women often are recommended to slather their vaginas with yogurt for certain gynea issues and for others why douching is so bad.0 -
Lovely lady assistant in the Wymondham Waitrose spoke to me in a Scots accent, and I said something inane like 'I wasn't expecting such a lovely Scots accent here.' She said that she was far from home, unfortunately. All very polite and amiable, but why was that acceptable? Surely, I was being racist? Why is it okay to comment on her Scottishness, but not on her lovely Jamaican accent, if that had been the case? Or perhaps that is okay, too, and I am just being overly sensitive? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I think there was a lot of 'BBC, shame on you', but I may well have misheard. I definitely couldn't make out anything else.
Yes, was a CofE school.0 -

Struggle, but not experience a huge weight loss just because they've lost their microflora! The yoghurt stuff is to try to replace the microflora so other microbes don't take hold (e.g. it's common to get thrush after taking antibiotics for a urinary tract infection).
GDB: I'm pretty sure that bacterial cells are a lot smaller than mammalian ones, so even though we're outnumbered, the bacteria might not be that weighty.0 -
The kids weren't listening to Nikki with mouths agape, then?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Re agape. The Greek for I love you my darling, written phonetically in our alphabet, is, iirc, s'agapo kuklamu. Which I think sounds very cheery and sweet. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
