I am a forces baby born out in Germany, if they didn't register me I would be claimed by the germans, hence my nationality is british and not english. (Got an extended birth certificate and of course my driving license does list Germany as my place of birth to add confusion for some)
I have a dad born in Salford and an mum and brother both born in Oldham.
But going back to being a small world, there was a kid in my class in primary school born in the same hospital and when we where registering to get married the registrar looked at my birth certificate and she knows the person who signed it.
Is being born in Germany sufficient to qualify you to be a German national? IIRC, to get British citizenship you have to have 2 out of the 3 of (a) born in UK, (b) British mother and (c) British father, although if there's no father listed on the birth certificate, then British single mother counts as if you had two British parents, so you can be British even if born elsewhere. I think somebody told me all that a long time ago, though, so they may have changed the rules since then.
Talking (as we have been) of birth certificates... I have a (female) friend who is married to a transsexual who is now legally female, although still functionally male in a reproductive sense, and intending to bank sperm before ceasing to be so. If they have children together, what goes on the birth certificate???Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I have no idea what the rules where back then, never really looked it up just took my mums word for it.
As for the birth certificate I am guessing the father should be listed as the father even if they are no long a man (I guess), I am sure Jeremy Kyle could sign it off.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

That's shocking!
Even worse than the computer system at Curry's when I signed up for a mobile dongle, which gave me options of, IIRC, single, married, divorced or other. I said widowed. The sales assistant said did I want to be entered as "other". I said I supposed so, since the other options were all clearly wrong. I was duly entered into the system as "other" and then it crashed. The assistant phoned the helpdesk, who said the crash was caused by putting "other" for marital status, so we had to start all over again. I consented to be entered as single, but I was distinctly unimpressed.
When I visited the US a lot in the 80s, on TV there was a person called Toby on telly who would have found much of this trying to fit people into categories very vexing.:oThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

AIUI, a change of sex isn't recognised for the purposes of BDM registration. If you are a man on your birth certificate you are the father of the child.0 -
Anyone else watching the 6 o'clock news on BBC1? When they cut to Sophie Raworth outside Parliament, it sounds like someone is shouting 'BBC, shame on you'?
Edit: wasn't me hallucinatingshe's just mentioned some 'disturbances'
Apparently it is impossible for the BBC to present the News from their multi-million pound studios a mile away.........they HAVE to stand on College Green in the wind, with traffic noise and the rest, as the viewing public are too stupid to realise that the Budget is something that happens in Parliament and is somewhat important.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
Heard on the news this morning that Kate is due to give birth two weeks before the General Election. As a result the political parties are scrabbling about like mad, because they know that all of their best laid press plans will go to pot as they are knocked off the front pages for baby news. This amused me greatly. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Good news for the incumbents perhaps? There'll be some horrible Thick of It style scramble to be associated with the poor kid.0 -

In this case, even as a female the sperm donor would be the second parent of the child.
Makes the explanation to the child interesting. "Mummy donated sperm" isn't a sentence you read very often.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If you get a gender recognition certificate you get a new birth certificate in your new gender. You are then the new gender as far as marriage is concerned, so I would imagine the same applies to births. At least, that's the case in the UK. It may be different in Australia.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
