Sorry about that. Must have been frightening. Hope they didn't lose anything of personal value.

    I'm stuffed.

Both children made me a breakfast. DD made me american pancakes followed by celebrations. Then DS presented me with a weird and wonderful concoction of a tortilla with a hole in filled with an egg and fried, topped with mayonnaise and reggae reggae sauce. Tasted a lot better then it sounds.

    Can't move.

Such a shame. Especially if it has left a bad taste in mouth and they are returning home. In terms of practical solutions, Travelon sells theft proof bags, may make a nice gift when they return:

You can buy them in the UK, but couldn't find a site quickly.

How do they work? This was an un zip and remove. There have been witnesses it seems, and the sticky fingered one is known to local police. Taken was rather lovely wallet ( cards and a reasonably but not earth shatteringly regrettable amount of cash) and phone. Nothing else though. Its a 'good' mugging as these things go, no damage to non RP, no shove or fall or injury. Only tangible loss is the nice wallet and cash.

Where do his socks end? I ask because most men's socks have elasticated tops. I just cut those off with a pair of scissors. I'll happily send fir a couple of pairs of the unelasticated socks I use. I mean I'll send him a couple of new pairs, not worn ones.

His socks end above that one ( we call it scrapie). Your logic makes sense though. :D. I'm not sure his gym socks do, I'll ask.....

With no elastic tops, how do they stay up?

Sorry to hear about the mugging, must be very unnerving.

Glad that fir's skin is improved. Having bad skin is far more annoying than it should be. All the men in my family suffer to varying degrees.

Its funny, no one alive in fir's family has psoriasis so far as we know. There is a possibility a dead grandfather did, but no one is absolutely sure......

Yes, non RP is unnerved by the mugging a lot. But, I think coping ok.

Re the theft proof bags.. I have one and use it in places like Rome and Barcelona. They have a metal mesh inside to stop it being slashed, it also has a lining to stop RFID transference. Each of the zips has a little catch on it so you can't just unzip and run. You also wear them cross-body. They would be a PITA to break into. They could do with being a bit more stylish though.

ETA.. found a video showing how it works:

This is the same model as I have.

When the boys have been touring round dodgy areas of dodgy countries they have a bum belt that is worn around the waist double zipped facing the body. Made out of super thin material so it should be unnoticed.

Being heavy chested and short, that looks annoying - the bag would "hang" from the boobs and flap/bang back and forth and it'd be down near my knees.

I've no idea what RFID even means... off to google that bit.

Shoulder straps adjust, you'd be fine on that front. Boobage is annoying, but I manage a cross body bag and am well over averagely endowed. You just have to accept its not going to loo good. The rhythmic flap is my notification its not being bothered with if its not in front of me at times, ta, tap tap, everything is ok for a second, disturbance ( delay, change in thud intensity etc, means check bag. )

My favourite favourite, bag needs replacing, and I cannot find anything I want to replace it with.

Sigh, I also should get a couple of bras again. I really hate shopping these days.
