I think all spiders are venomous but I'm not sure about the (I think it's unique) herbivorous one. There's not many, maybe none, in the uk that can penetrate human skin.

I've been told the same thing.

There was a fascinating program on the radio here when we first arrived about the venomous spiders of Australia.

We're not meant to kill them. Apparently we should put them in a jam jar and take them to the local hospital so they can make the anti-venom:eek:

I heard a bloke call the radio station to say that he worked in a place with a lot of funnel webs and he used to collect them in jam jars. On Friday he'd take about 40 to the local hospital in his van and his boss used to give him an early mark so he could go.

The radio presenter asked what would happen if there was a crash. After a long pause the caller said, "Hmm, I hadn't thought about that".

Not that vit A's a barrel of laughs. It's used as a tanning pill in some countries, but when they tested it as a chemoprotectant against lung cancer in smokers they had to end the trial early as it turned out to increase the rate.

Yep, fir is on a vit a ban ATM with current psoriasis meds.


This med btw, is having amazing impact! He went up to the higher dose this week, but even on the lowest dose his skin has improved amazingly . I'm not sure he'll need to get to the 'full' dose at this rate, ) he's blood tested every four weeks then moves up a dose, but .....this is amazing stuff, )
