.... it has a really cool name. ( quite rude) but its not phonetic so I was overruled suggesting we talk about changing the name of the farm.
Intrigued to know what the thing was called. Calling the Farm Knobber's Bottom would make you memorable to the postie :)

It was about something joked about 10 days or so ago ... and was tongue in cheek, yes.

I know. Hence the first line of my post.

Those rules come up every so often all over the place. I never like them. I can't see any reason why it should be any more acceptable to joke that the man in the relationship is wrong solely by reason of his gender than it would be to joke in an equivalent way about the woman being automatically wrong. I just don't like double standards, whichever way round they're applied, so I think women shouldn't hand out to men treatment (as a joke or otherwise) that they would object to if it was the other way round. I don't much like it when men joke about the women being always right either.

But this is the NPT, so I'd better let it drop. Sorry everyone. Soap box back in its cupboard now. :o
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    I'd have made the joke whether it were male/female, female/male, male/male, female/female, or pet/human.

So you're happy to discriminate against human/pet then???

The other day Doglet made it clear she did not want to wait outside Sainsbury. So, I thought the only thing to do was have a democratic vote. Doglet had a vote, although it is such a shame she's not old enough yet for her vote to be counted.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I apologise in advance as it is a bit childish... but this made me laugh quite a lot:

Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I have since come to believe that appeasement in marriage is about as effective as it was for Chamberlain. My preferred way of dealing with misunderstandings now is to try to get the focus away from assigning or accepting blame, and onto fixing the problem.

Clearly you are not married to a woman. :D

In my personal experience, appeasement works wonders.....;)

I think I need some help. Mrs Generali left her phone charger plugged in to an electrical socket. I told her where that charger was.

Why is it my fault that she left the charger where I said it was? Apparently I'm right in the poo.

Dear Gen, it has nothing to do with the phone charger.

You need some mediation. It does work.
