See what you've started viva? This is getting rather out of hand for someone who doesn't organise going out for their birthday as they don't like the fuss/ social awkwardness inviting people etc etc etc
As lir starts, I haven't done anything yet. Let's see how and IF it all goes.
You might all want to start thinking of back-up excuses for the meet up(not that excuses are required)

Shhh... get back to your studies Nikks. I've heard rumour that Gen's even coming over from Aus for the party. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I'd make an effort to be there for a 'do' too....as long as it is commutable by train that is and I might have to bring Josh along to get me on and off trains etc.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
There you go Nikks, you're really going to have to do it now...

And ....despite having to sign for them they knocked in the door and ran......knowing I was going to refuse them.
Its not so bad I cannot do another month, but I kinda don't want to. If there is a shortage however I don't feel I need to be at top of the list for those available.
Is this going to be a problem long term? I don't 'get' it...surely if the doc knows this brand is wrong for you he would be able to source the correct one?Glad the NPT has been helpful to you Gen. I'm just thankful there are people on here who understand the whole setting up a business thing and could be useful, because the last time there was an entrepreneurial gene in my family was my great-grandparents, and I most certainly haven't any trace of ability or inclination in that direction. Looking forward to hearing how it works out for you.
Sorry to hear that, Sue.
Your post is very, um, factual. How are you feeling? (Ignore that if you'd rather not say.)
Hope the friendship continues to be a support to you.
A do would definitely be in order. I'm in, and will contribute in whatever way is decided on (as long as I don't have to host it in my chaotic house).
.....OK......Had a chat with OH (who would love to catch up with everyone again) and we can def do a do if the NPT's fancy doing a do. (I think I just invented a song title.)
We are pretty accessible by car (15 mins off the M25) or can arrange a bulk pick up at an arranged time from N Greenwich Tube....then we are a 10 min drive.
We have 1 double room with ensuite if anyone needs a sleepover.
....so when is a good time?
Xmas/ NY break would work for us with only 1st Jan not suiting as we are having a party on NYE (to which NPT's are also most welcome but I don't have a spare room that night). It's a mix of kids and adults. No Chinese Elvis though as we are back on MSE rations.lostinrates wrote: »Hang on, she hasn't done it yet........see how she goes, and how you feel then. So I'll chuck in some dates for a nice boozy (for those of us who do boozy) long lunch and a trek around the ancient woods around us (to work off the boozy lunch). Easy to drop off at the station at the end for anyone coming by tube
Good dates are the following; 28 29 30 Dec / 2 3 5 4 6 Jan.
If no-one says anything then it's not a stress at all ....just an idea thrown into the NPT
I have been thinking about Gens idea as well and how it could fit in around current life / earning requirements.
The really handy thing about running a small business (initially as a sole trader) is that you can offset so many everyday expenses so that the mobile, all car costs, space for home office (we always have £360 pa put in for that), 70% of home 'phone, PC costs and so on can be set against your tax.
It's kind of an unseen figure but what with the $600 childcare as a starters bonus, could actually tot up to a fair bit when considering whether to go back into a regular paid job.
OK, I take on board that the hardest bit is bringing in sufficient turnover but once one has been going for a while, you get a rough figure of what each event (or whatever) can expect to take.
Even better with food as half your weekly calories could come from unsold stock that is written off.0 -

...if @ ours we are SE London and if you can get to central London you can then get onto a tube (Jubilee line which has buggy/ wheelchair access at some stations) and we'll do a pick up.0 -
....in fact a few days before Xmas would work too....like the 21st, 22nd Dec.0
