Parents evening this evening, trying not to feel smug having been told all 3 are a pleasure to teach including DS whose two teachers said they would like a class with 30 of him please. :) WE have tried to suggest they mix things up a bit for DD1, academically she is not quite in the top half dozen but is clearly finding it very easy to stay in the next group (where her best friend is) and coast so hopefully they may ask her to work with some others who may push her a bit more. Forgot to mention on Monday she played basketball for the school and they won the local 12(?) schools competition so are through to the county finals.

Only problem is on parent evening night things seem to get very late and tiring to have dinner etc and I have also had to fill in the property information form to make sure there are no holdups with that and do a few other chores and I seem to have the cold/flu that is going around.

Going to bed in a minute.

Well done Spirit, love to all chez Spirit.
    I think....

I also have play doh and a football to tryto roll aboutand extend my elbow.

Good work Spirit! Keep it up.

I had something of a breakthrough last night too. For the first time in ages I slept through the night without waking up thinking about work/the future. It really has helped talking things through with you lot.

I am back to being like my name...single again.

Unfortunately, the relationship was not really going anywhere and was missing that little extra and we are better as friends, as we have been for over 30 years. I have probably put up a few too many walls too to stop getting hurt plus of course, having disabled children does make it a little harder for a relationship to flourish.

Spirit - Brilliant news! Hope things continue to improve as they have, you have come on amazingly.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sorry to hear that Sue. Hopefully you'll be able to maintain the friendship still, though?

Hmm - didn't Tesco see ready meals for low to middle income families as being a gap in the market in the US and then went on to lose rather a lot of money with "fresh'n'easy"?

I think that ready made 'Artisan' type products sold in farmers markets etc. are a different market to the Tesco style of Ready Meal and can be really successful.

I know at the one I go to every week the soup and baked products stalls seem to do very well.

Don't know if trad baking appeals to you (or rather the Aus customer ) but OH's Aunt bakes for this http://www.jojosrestaurant.co.uk/about/
companies coffee shop and she does a mix of 'new' (such as vegetable cake) and old (6'' deep lemon meringue pie).

Can't wait to find out what the plan is Gen.

Nikks, hows this for an offer. Finish your PhD and submit it and I'll buy you dinner. I'm sure there'll be witnesses to this.

......feel an NP 'do' would be in order for that event :) I am happy to host a Well Done Nikks Partee.

Am catching up on years of not entertaining at all (or not much).

Cheers fc123. I need to go over the options with Mrs Generali.

Baking is of interest but there's too much competition from SAHMs who make a shoddy product which has devalued a large part of that market.

Glad the NPT has been helpful to you Gen. I'm just thankful there are people on here who understand the whole setting up a business thing and could be useful, because the last time there was an entrepreneurial gene in my family was my great-grandparents, and I most certainly haven't any trace of ability or inclination in that direction. Looking forward to hearing how it works out for you. :)

Sorry to hear that, Sue. :(

Your post is very, um, factual. How are you feeling? (Ignore that if you'd rather not say.)

Hope the friendship continues to be a support to you.

A do would definitely be in order. I'm in, and will contribute in whatever way is decided on (as long as I don't have to host it in my chaotic house :o). :D

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Full of cold Lydia, probably explains the more factual tone...everything hurts including when I type.

I'm ok about it, obviously a little sad and feeling a little rejected but I'll get over it, we only saw each other once a week anyway.

Fabulous! The NPT in action again :)

If it were me, I'd also guess that the fact you're thinking things through in depth and playing round with the ideas is a first step in actually 'doing something' about the situation - and that would be a great help mentally too. Like I said, that is what helps me.

Sorry to hear your news Sue. You've had a busy time of it recently.
