    I've been Money Tipped!
Gen, one of my favourite dressings /sauces, was discontinued in 2009.

    Make that. :)

I'm on my last dribble so will have to make some myself soon. :(

    Well done!
And thank you for sharing your triumph with us. :)

    In-of-the-deed.

Spirit, you are incredible. I am so impressed with your determination and progress.

Almost back in the right time zone. I'm back at work anyway, mayo with my fries this evening.

Had a fabulous family hol. The timing was spectacularly bad for me, but nevermind. It was worth it.

Lovely. Hope it has refreshed you.

Now, back to the grindstone!! How is the thesis?

Just as Kermie is the first Nice Baby, because although others of us have had babies, NDG was the first person to give birth while being a Nice Person, yours will be the first Nice PhD. So we are all willing you onwards and upwards with it. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Apparently Turkish people are to blame for bagpipes. I think we should have an international crime thingy at The Hague.

I do rather have an affection for the massed bagpipes (particularly but not essentially with the drums) section on the TV of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo every year :o

Spirit, I am really excited that you are making so much progress and persevering with it.

Today, DW went on a course at work, an all-day course to improve time management. She came back and said that she thought it was a test. Anybody who actually turned up for the course failed.

    Excellent :D

I don't want to be back at work.

I suit being a lady of leisure a lot better. Though I dread to think how much weight I've put on in the past couple of weeks.
I've never seen my dad cry before, but he did at the airport as he didn't want to go home :( Which I guess is a good thing really :)

Thesis-wise - it's going to be busy old week next week. Still trying to *feel* that I'm going to finish it. Rather than just reach the deadline.
    Meh.

Nikks, hows this for an offer. Finish your PhD and submit it and I'll buy you dinner. I'm sure there'll be witnesses to this.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I will come to witness it! I will go halves with you.

I'm looking like I've been bought rather too many dinners at the moment  I'm not convinced my work trousers will fit when I try to put them on tomorrow. The Yanks sure know how to consume calories don't they? Willpower is not one of my strengths at the moment.

Thanks viva, and Lydia, and all the rest of you. There was a way to make this easier (not leaving it all until the last week), but I was clearly never going to take that. I'll let you know how it goes, either way.

The Big Deadline is end of the the year...

    I've been Money Tipped!
I had a HUGE supper tonight; steak, a potato and spinach.

I have been recovering for a couple of hours.

Although I'm still full I have a weird craving for a palmier. Now, that blows the idea that you crave something your body needs out of the water. I don't think any one NEEDs anything in palmiers!
