    Evening all....

Have spent most of the last month in airports and hotels for work purposes. The work bit is fun but the travel is truly eye-glazingly, hand-bitingly, dull.

    Did I miss anything? :)

I have heating and hot water. It''s the lower, small, grey plastic things - both of them....not the bigger, black, ones that were looking more likely.

He said "Oh no, you don't want to touch those black ones, that's not what you want". Took him 10 seconds to do it.

So glad it's all sorted and you're warm now. How useful to have a tame plumber so close by. :)

I have LED kitchen lights replacing the MR16s, such bright light and only 7w each.

I am definitely a convert to LED lighting. Won't be buying any further non-LED bulbs except for things like the cooker hood, for which LED ones aren't available.
    Yes, thanks.

Glad you're feeling well enough to post. I've missed your contributions to the Nice Conversation.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    DW mentioned two:

http://www.galtonflowers.com/ These used to be the local florists, but they have moved to the shopping centre, so who knows what they are like now? Bit of a risk. (And their website is not my sort of thing at all, I'm afraid.)

http://www.josephinesflorist.co.uk/ These are a standard sort of suburban florist. Pretty well known and been around for as long as I can remember. They are in N2, which is close enough. I'm sure that we have had some flowers from them.

    I doubt you'll have a problem with Josephine's.

If the funeral is on Sunday, then 99:1 odds are that it is non-orthodox. The orthodox tend to bury within 24 hours.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Got the wires out of my arm today- very weird feeling, just odd rather than painful. It was in a hospital near where I used to live. Bumped into an old friend in the X-ray queue, who I hadn't seen for over 10 years (we'd moved out of the area but it's a good hospital so I still want to go there).
