Uhoh. Why so long to wait for a non-existent telephone appt?

Is it possible they're running behind, like they do in surgery? Or is it way too late?

    Way too late.

    Fir will call tomorrow.
No idea, but I guess its likely there is a lot of the stuff going round locally that's hit hard...bugs and stuff. Coupled with the incompetNce that hits hard. Its ok, I'm coping, and it wasn't urgent, which is why I accepted a non urgent timescale.

    Btw Doozergirl,

I beg your guy is a great husband. Today he just told me to stay out of the way and get back to bed. I'd started trying to repair damage from two days off. The five of us ( dog dog, kiwi, pink and mauve) went upstairs, I put some laundry away, then slept. I thought of how worried he's been when you have been unwell and thought I bet you get left to heal! Anyway, I'm really grateful.

doozer left house for me better than RP did.

    Good :)

There is a different way of thinking about it. I sometimes call it abandonment, but being left to heal is a nicer thought. With the bronchitis I was delivered MacDonalds several times. I'm sure he'd do that for you if it would stay down :o

My part-time tip is not to work Mondays. You're off on bank holidays anyway and you then get time in lieu to add onto your your annual leave, so your own bank holidays become flexible :D

I work in Australia not the UK don't forget so different rules apply. I think that I'll be expected to work 3 days a week when I'm not on leave.

My solicitor phoned me today. She is leaving the firm next week, so will be handing my case over to a guy she works with. I've spoken to him on the phone several times when I've rung up when she's not been in the office, and he seems v nice and v capable. She tells me he knows all about my case ... well, actually everybody in the office knows all about my case because it's been going on for so long and being so unusual and complicated.

    Thanks.

I'd get a really good bottle of wine, maybe an old claret (check the 'Parker Score' if you can as there's lots of old wine out there that is basically undrinkable).

    Great news SingleSue.

Kinda good news in a way Spirit. At least now you know what's wrong you can be treated.

I went to the docs yesterday about my arthritis and it's not good news at all. Basically the doctor has done what he can for me, there is no magic bullet that is going to solve the problem. I can make it a bit better with exercise but apart from that I just have to suck it up.

Next step is to join an arthritis group, either online or in person, and see what the experts have to say.

Oh, no, left to heal is perfect. :T

    Nothing worse than being pestered.

    ' can I get you anything? '

'Unless its a full body transplant do not come back'

    'You sure, cup of tea?'

    :mad::mad:

That kind of person drives me potty. I'm healing, leave me alone. Use your initiative, do something useful ......far away from me. :D

( fir is the exception, he is allowed to pamper me a bit...but its taken getting used to.)

I was going to have a cup of tea when I made them coffee, but then thought better of it, but had cuppa tea afterwards. I have now had piece of toast and a yoghurt ( for probiotics) and the probiotics I got from gastro last year ( belt and braces) and some other things they tried.

I've got somewhere to live!! Massive relief. And exciting too!

I'll be living with a couple, and they're a bit older than me. It put me off looking round the place. But they're very easy going people, used to having lodgers. It's a really nice place. They have a dog! I've never had a dog before, so that should be fun, as they've said I can take him out whenever I like (but I won't have the responsibility of full ownership). One of them cooks every night too, and said if I want I can always just have what he's cooking. So it's a pretty good deal :)

It's in my first choice of location too.

Top end of the budget but I think it'll be well worth it.
That sounds great. You landed on your feet.

With the dog - be super careful about always closing your door properly every time you walk out of it as he'll be curious.

Living in somebody else's house means you'll be more secure than some random shared house. They've a vested interest in making sure the premises are secure etc.

May be Tmi..sorry Np.One of my current complaints is that I have reflux and am regurgitating food. This has been going on for a few weeks. I am currently unable to eat much of what I like as it recycles and wont stay down. mashed swede and mashed potato seem to stay down along with rice crispies, I have tried eating more normal things but am giving up now as it is too unpleasant. I also have to monitor my diabetes like a hawk so no sweet treats and watch carbs. So no chocolate or alcohol.

Not sure what pleasures are available to me until I have seen a Gastronterologist

    Expanding on what is working,

Have you tried other similar things? I wonder if you could get hold of a tasty kabocha or onion squash to try mashing.

If that works you could try flavouring a little differently? Perhaps with a little chicken stock for my savoury taste?

A sweet potato? I note you tried cottage cheese ? If dairy is ok, I love the taste of clean white yoghurt with potato, so a baked potato, mashed with some yoghurt, might add variety?

Is smooth soup ok? Or broths? A broth would at least mix up the taste and texture of things somewhat. :).

    Big hugs. :)

( how can I think of food for some one else, indeed with enthusiasm, when I feel like this, but the toast and yoghurt revolted me? Lol)

    Well done, Mas.
