They've a vested interest in making sure the premises are secure etc.

    And have functional bathroom lighting.

    Exciting stuff, Mas :j

Can you afford it? I would love to chip in if it would help. He deserves it. Like those "Pink Ladies" on the HSBC advert that seems to be on everything all the time ATM. :)

Erm...... I'll work something out but thanks.

Josh got another invite for an interview/audition today....for the same blooming day again! Of all the days in the next couple of months, all the universities seem to be interviewing on just one particular day.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Thanks all for the good wishes. It's a massive load off my mind. It has been very stressful going up and down to London trying to do viewings, some very unreliable people. If it doesn't work, or is too expensive, I can just move out; and it will be much easier to move around once I'm there.

    Hugs to Spirit and Gen.

Today was the day fir should have taken the telephone appointment booked for me with the doctors first week of the year.

    Perfect timing eh?

I thought, great, I can get some of the pills I need for stomach from that call etc etc.

Fir just called to say they haven't called him. :( .

No update on referral but fir told practise manager he was extremely disappointed. There will be some pills for me to collect tonight from pharmacy for this week to hopefully get me on feet ( the ones that worked last year, with a bit of a weird side trip to hospital) but I know I can cope with that and they were amazingly effective so I'm happy.

    Expanding on what is working,

Have you tried other similar things? I wonder if you could get hold of a tasty kabocha or onion squash to try mashing.

If that works you could try flavouring a little differently? Perhaps with a little chicken stock for my savoury taste?

A sweet potato? I note you tried cottage cheese ? If dairy is ok, I love the taste of clean white yoghurt with potato, so a baked potato, mashed with some yoghurt, might add variety?

Is smooth soup ok? Or broths? A broth would at least mix up the taste and texture of things somewhat. :).

    Big hugs. :)

( how can I think of food for some one else, indeed with enthusiasm, when I feel like this, but the toast and yoghurt revolted me? Lol)
Thank you. I am failing on being disciplined already. At lunch time I had a slice of Hm bread with chopped herrings. regreting it already. Also rcycling this mornings drugs. I like your suggestions about using yoghurt or stock to give variety. smooth soup would probably be ok. I may make some leek and potato
Not sure about broth due to lumps.

I was thinking just having the brothy bit, not the lumps. :) Change of texture, and you can get a good meaty taste.

Drugs coming up is Vile. Poor you.

Also, I recommend heartily you avoid icecream. Please. Just.....listen to me. Don't ask why. :o.

If soups work, smoothies or veg juice might ring the changes? . :). Probably want to avoid overly fruity things because of acid and sugar, but some veg based things might feel cleaner and fresher if its warm at home. :)

Soup gives lots of options though if that will work, any cuisine in the world can be soup. Not perfect solution, but might help for a while.

( if you want fish they do those jars of fish soup in waitrose......I never buy them, ( not a fan of fish soups, or chowdery type things usually) but they remind me of my brother in law because he always used to, ). They are almost iconic in my mind as things people buy for their store cupboards from waitrose to leave in houses for quick meals, or in weekend cottages, etc etc,:) )

That's really beyond a joke, and now in the category of "unacceptable" and actually "incompetent". Is there really no other practice within a reasonable distance to which you could move?

May be Tmi..sorry Np.One of my current complaints is that I have reflux and am regurgitating food. This has been going on for a few weeks. I am currently unable to eat much of what I like as it recycles and wont stay down. mashed swede and mashed potato seem to stay down along with rice crispies, I have tried eating more normal things but am giving up now as it is too unpleasant. I also have to monitor my diabetes like a hawk so no sweet treats and watch carbs. So no chocolate or alcohol.

Not sure what pleasures are available to me until I have seen a Gastronterologist

    Oh Spirit. :(

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

One school dinner I used to love - and then even made at home (and will make again soon, maybe today!) is sliced swede and sliced carrots, covered in gravy :) The school dinner used to have the two served together, whole slices of swede and good sized slices of carrot, layered. It was yummy. They used to serve that with a meat/potato pie. I love mash too - so would serve that with mash. But then you say "no carbs" and spuds are carbs. But - you can use grated/riced cauliflower as a rice/spud replacement.

I'd also look at cauliflower cheese as that's soft.

Oh Spirit, so sorry to hear you are having so many difficulties eating, and also the jaundice. Is it possible the two are connected? Hope you can get some help with it all soon. Hugs and vibes from Liverpool. :)
