You can ask your solicitor whether she can take you with her to her new job.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I thought you were all done and dusted.
At least she has been there for the bulk of it. I think a token of flowers/ chocs/ book token would be well received.
Thanks. Our family's claim as LNE's financial dependants is done and dusted. The children's (much smaller) claims for personal injuries (both physical and psychological) are ongoing. You can ask your solicitor whether she can take you with her to her new job.
Thanks. However, she is moving to a firm that specialises in something specific that isn't anything to do with road traffic accidents and will be doing their kind of cases, so it wouldn't be appropriate.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I know nothing about solicitors, but I'm so sorry you're losing her. Perhaps something like a book token would be acceptable ? I know law books cost the earth.
But often not the cost of the individual solicitor.
Alcohol.
Something with worth she wouldn't buy to drink herself.
I bet your case has made her feel like a drink before now in sympathy with you.
Solicitors are as diverse a bunch as any other type of person. I would suggest a personal note from you would be the most appreciated part of any gift.0 -
Generali, a bit ago I made a suggestion of a play that was coming up in Sydney that I thought you might like to take your kids to.
Here's a write up about it, a guest post to Dove Grey Reader's blog.

Very glad to hear about your new job. :j  OH did 3 day weeks the last couple of years he was working (he did an extra year after 65, then got made redundant - RBS!). We loved that extra freedom of long weekends, he did Mon-Wed in work, so Thurs-Sunday = Freedom! :j But if it had been a split week it still would have been really good. He got the short week as being my carer, though first time he asked was turned down and told to try again in a year.0 -

My part-time tip is not to work Mondays. You're off on bank holidays anyway and you then get time in lieu to add onto your your annual leave, so your own bank holidays become flexibleEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Most people who don't work Mondays don't get additional time off for bank holidays "missed".0 -
I've got somewhere to live!! Massive relief. And exciting too!
I'll be living with a couple, and they're a bit older than me. It put me off looking round the place. But they're very easy going people, used to having lodgers. It's a really nice place. They have a dog! I've never had a dog before, so that should be fun, as they've said I can take him out whenever I like (but I won't have the responsibility of full ownership). One of them cooks every night too, and said if I want I can always just have what he's cooking. So it's a pretty good deal
It's in my first choice of location too.
Top end of the budget but I think it'll be well worth it.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

This sounds absolutely great!
( buy the dog some thrive for dog treats, win him over).
Well done. I'm excited for you Mas0 -
That depends on your contract.
Most people who don't work Mondays don't get additional time off for bank holidays "missed".
If your company does a 5 day week and doesn't work on bank holidays, then they should end up falling under statutory entitlement for a non-Monday part timer. Most employers I've worked for offer bare minimum plus bank holidays to make up the statutory minimum of 28 days.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
