    Nothing.

    Possibly ever again, lol.

I am however braving a cuppa now. It tastes like biscuits.

I'm in the Vheese room watching the little chickens jump over the gate into the back garden when they SHOULD be. Thinking about going to bed.

As of last night bathroom light is flickering and won't stay on. Managed to work out what bulb to get (hopefully, involved standing on the bath and trying to take a photo of the label on the light fitting).

    Bought said bulb.

Can I get the cover off the fitting? No. Feel very pathetic. I wouldn't even bother if it was just me here (would go to the loo with the door open). But it's not :(

WE have a fan with a light covered by a plastic dome but it is completely impossible to get the dome off and the bulb has gone so we use a standard lamp in that room instead....
    I think....

He is rather heavy handed/ footed so I probably wouldn't ask. Esp not today. Not feeling the need to make him feel alpha either!

I just noticed next door was home - so swallowed my pride and went round to see if he could help. Took him about 2 seconds to get the cover off. On the upside, I had at least managed to buy the correct bulb.

Would you like to borrow my neighbour? For a small finders fee of course :)

    5'6" ceiling or so

I dunno. I think that might be a bit cave-like.

I did do some impressive small-step/-stool-thing-balanced-precariously-on-a-chair activity earlier. But then I even resorted to getting one of the old cobwebby stepladders that I inherited with the house out. Didn't help me, but at least I looked slightly less badly equipped when I called in the cavalry. I'm quite annoyed that I couldn't fix it myself though

This is where building regs annoys me - I'd like a house with a 5'6" ceiling or so - less to heat, easier to decorate - and you can change lightbulbs without risking limb and life... but no, building regs sets the minimum head height, based on a size of people I am very, very rarely ever likely to invite round.

This is why bathrooms need to have a window - so when the light blows you can have baths during daylight hours until you get it fixed. Although some solar lights dragged in there might help as a Plan B
