I've just discovered a new circle of commuting hell.
They put in massive TV screens at Wynyard statiom showing ads. That's ok if slightly annoying. Now they're chanelling the sound through the bloody station announcement system. Aaaaaargh.0 -

I love marmite. I also love chocolate. But I can't quite get my head round the two in a single combo
Some bored flatmates made a peach omelette once. Before you go the fridge/fruit bowl out of curiosity, the unanimous verdict was, never again. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Opthalmic vet's not a job I'd heard of before. I did once wonder if there were such things as veterinary pharmacists. Still don't know.
And this on the same page as marmite chocolate. This is very much a vocabulary-expanding thread.
He is a vet who specialised in eyes.
Some years ago he signed his practice up to a pharmacy supplier club as it was a a way of getting economies of scale. some years later it was listed on the stock market he hadnot followed its business development so it was a surprise. He sold his share and got £50,000 .I guess they must have had pharmacists who specilised in domestic and livestock/equine Pharmaceuticals.0 -
I'd guess so. I know someone who works at a pharmacy. As soon as someone lets slip that what they are asking for is for a pet rather than a human, it can't be sold.
I wonder how many other unfamiliar niche jobs there are we're missing out on; Circus nurse, zoo dentist, roof gardener, robot repairman, I think Monty Python had a sketch about the Church Police. Come to think about it, the navy has its own army which has its own police force.:o
Anyhoo, none of that's as absurd as what I found out today- you can get nicotineless e-cigarettes. I dare say that's healthy, but does it have to be a thing?:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I guess that's ideal for people who have managed to kick their addiction to nicotine but still crave the action of 'smoking'?0 -
