Yes, absolutely! No shame in that. But, to replace a toilet roll holder, I would have to be on duty 24/7 for many years. I am not doing that for £20k.
I am amazed at the number of toilet roll-related posts on this thread.
Intriguingly it reminds me of this current thread in the Arms about wisdom which makes two useful points about toilet rolls although one is in the OP's original link.;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Grr, everyone talking about food....started my diet on Monday!
Re halogen, love mine, would never be without it and used everyday, I'm on my second one now and I even cook our roast dinner in it on a Sunday. Mum and dad have also got one and although it took a little bit of pushing, they also now use theirs often.
Parent evening for youngest last night, after an absolutely horrendous drive up there, all the news was good....he is currently working at Distinction * across the board. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Focus on the toilet roll posts - you won't be tempted to eat one of those (and if you do there'll be no calories in it)!
Well done to youngest. :TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Well I finally got the results of my back scan. I have 2 things wrong:
1. Disc bulging out right at the bottom of my back, probably caused by my skating accident
2. Arthritis in the lower 4 lumbar in my spine causing further inflammation
The 2 are combining to push on my sciatic nerve. I've been given diclofenac(sp?) if that works then great, if not then it's a cortisone injection in my spine.0 -

Is there any connection to the cycling? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Is there any connection to the cycling?
Only insofar as I haven't been doing any.
There is apparently a slight correlation between ex-professional cyclists and knee arthritis but then ex-pro cyclists often put on a lot of weight as it's tough to go from eating 6,000 to 2,500 calories a day!
The Doctor told me that cycling and swimming are good, walking and running bad. I'm going to challenge him on the walking as everything I've read has said walking is fine and I love walking. If he maintains his stance then fair enough, I'll take his advice.
Diet seems to have little or no impact. Obviously there are all the usual quack websites telling you that an 'acid diet' causes arthritis (and cancer too BTW) but that is what we economists call 'balderdash'. The only real thing seems to be to keep up a decent calcium intake to keep the bones strong. That and the usual 5 veg + 2 fruit a day, whole grains, protein and not too much saturated fat aka a good balanced diet that we've known since WW2 is very good for you.0 -
In the UK we talk about 5-a-day, fruit or veg portions that can include one glass of fruit juice as one of your 5 a day.
