I had a 3rd portion, 400g. Officially, a portion of chilli should be 220g as I checked.
Just removed the remainder from the pot and weighed it, 620grams.
So .... that 620 grams will end up as 2 portions.... probably tomorrow at this rate.
Total yield was 1400 grams. That should've been over 6 portions.0 -

That's what I have in my freezer, Sainsbury's chopped onion, chopped garlic, little cubes of chilli, pesto... last ages, never go off. It's just me and so I've always got an array of "flavours" to hand. I don't like garlicky food, so I only have a half a teaspoon of garlic at a time.. The bag will last me until it expires at this rate. They don't take up too much room either.
Thought I'd also mention to PN that Aldi has a halogen oven for £24.99 this week. Its small and economical for your pies and stuff, and you could even plug it in in your living room and watch while watching TV if cooking worries you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I have never weighed my portions PN! Sometimes my slow cooker provides 3 portions, but if its particularly nice, its only two!
I watched the programme on telly last night about Which Diet is best for you? ... They were split up into three different types of 'eaters' .. sadly I could identify with all three of them!
No hope for me!0 -
Very well done, PN :T
In a minute I'm going to reheat the third double portion of some stew I made in the slow cooker just after Christmas and put in the freezer. I'm going to make some dumplings too:drool:
Joanthebone I watched the diet programme too, and thought exactly the same0 -

If the bulbs go, they'll go within the first 12 months, which means the bulbs faulty, so you'll get a new Cooker under the Guarantee. I'm on my second Halogen. The first I had for 3 years and was used at least twice a day. It wasn't the bulb that went in the end, it was the thermostat, meaning the bulb was on all the time when cooking. My current one I've had for over 12 months without any problems.

How do you get the hot food out, easily, without burning your wrists/arms/fingers/hands on the hot glass?
I find kitchen worktops too high - by the time something's sitting on top of that - and hot .... it's just highly likely that I'd burn myself, leap up, knock it over, smash it on the floor.0 -

Previous house, the previous owner had the work tops fitted 2 inches lower than normal. Was a right pain, firstly for me and secondly anything we bought to fit under the work top was a devil to squeeze in.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I don't know that my total annual spend of about £6 would count as inspirational... but I've definitely been doing it longer than their ads have been running:DPlease stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
