    I've been Money Tipped!
Speaking of dogs, another very dear and beloved MSE chum popped over yesterday and in her van was a dog she is trying to rehome. Not all that far from Spirit, so i'll mention it here in case spirit or her wonderful daughter hear of a suitable home. Its a little boy ( yorkie cross) who was bought with his brother and not very well socialised. Since being with my beloved chum he has grown a bit in confidence and social skills. She things his ideal home would be with an older, probably larger very steady dog. Although he is a yorkie cross and his markings are like a yorkie, his colouring is much softer, he is soft, soft blue grey and creamy gold, just like dog dog. Really incredibly pretty. He's very cuddly.

Fir didn't pick him up or talk to him once, because we are not the right home, and fir didn't want to fall in love, but when ours went out to take ours to do the birds I gave him a cuddle and he was very, very endearing. He's not quite there yet, still unsure of himself ( part of why my friend thinks a steady, confident, placid dog would be the ideal companion for him) but he wants to please very much.

Had a family gathering on sunday for lunch, and Mil's dog has turned into a proper poser, as soon as the camera comes out he starts striking a pose like those dogs in old victorian paintings next to their master. He's a Husky, Labrador German shepherd cross of some kind.

Our microwave packed in last week, it was originally in grandparents old caravan must have been 20 years old. New one ordered and today arrived and its a fair bit larger. What i found interesting was how much we used the microwave for various things, turned into a right pain cooking over the weekend.

Slow cooker hasn't seen much use since we moved here in June so like many of the other NP it will come out for Friday nights meal. Just a generic £12 cookworks model too and from what i have seen and heard they are all much of a muchness anyway. So our friendly NP need not be afraid of acquiring a cheap one.

That's round this way too, certainly for the last 12-18 months. It seems to only kill the occasional one, but you only have to be unlucky once.

PN, this was someone different to the person from Saturday. Agent tells us is a developer so unlikely to offer more...

Given state of OH's health still we're not in a rush to sell in some ways. Hopefully by end of this week he'll be feeling stronger. Does seem to be better each day (touch wood!) since finished antibiotics. So hopefully can get back to packing stuff up in next couple of days.

Doozergirl, it was certainly interesting to get 3 offers from 2 persons across 2 days! But we'll be hanging on for now - we have a price in mind, and this is only the start of the best selling times of the year.

While we are prepared to drop from asking price (would be silly not to), there's a level we don't want to go below. I know house needs a lot of work doing, but it's in a popular area and it has 3 double bedrooms. So much bigger than majority of 3 bed terraces. Plus it's an end terrace, so much brighter and more open than most, especially with the views down all the gardens of the semis going down the hill. Location and light is what attracted us in the first place. I believe we are realistic in what we hope to get. We'll see! :rotfl:

Michaels, your holiday seems fraught with bad weather and unwellness! :( Hope things look up for you soon!

Feeling carp :( adding ibuprofen to paracetamol as temperature still going up

I would advise against accepting a dDeveloper offer as they have little incentive not to gazunder. One of the excitements just before we went away when the tenants were due to leave on the Thursday and we were due to exchange and complete on the Friday was that our buyers cash buyer tried to negotiate a 15k reduction on the Wednesday. I'm afraid we told our buyers it was their problem (they had benefitted about 4k on the stamp duty) and we were not open to renegotiation and eventually we exchanged on the Monday we were travelling with competition due this Friday. Cost about 1k in extra mortgage interest etc but I had thought we would be looking for new tenants and going back to the planners.
    I think....

NCT classes start tonight. I don't think I have ever not wanted to go to something quite as much as this. OH is desperate to meet other people who will be having kids at the same time as her. I'm not sure why as we already know 4 people who she actually likes within 15 mins of us who will be on maternity leave at the same time as her. How many baby friends do you need? Oh well, 2 hours tonight and then every Saturday in Jan written off. Rubbish.

    We felt much the same.
It was our NCT teacher's first group. We actually didn't pay too much attention to her after the first couple of lessons but the 5 couples bonded as a group. That was 25 years ago this month and we are all still great friends; in fact we are just planning our 25th anniversary celebration together. So don't write the classes off!

Bloody hell Nikkster. After the few years I've had you can't post something with the headline 'Bank goes into administration' without warning me first. I was coming over all 2008 again!

Ours were a rum lot. I don't think they ever forgave me for asking about formula feeding and making the point that, "Formula can't be that bad, it's not like it's illegal".

The blokes all went out together for drinks after the births. They sent round a group text which accidentally included me. They didn't make that mistake again except to send a message telling someone not to invite me. Oh well, their loss.

I'm normally a reasonably popular person. Not with that lot I wasn't.

Antenatal classes, whether NCT, NHS or any other kind, are a bit hit and miss. Some people make friends for life and others not so much. It just depends who's in your group, and you've no way of predicting that. I hung out with the people from mine until about the time of our group's joint party for all the babies' first birthdays, and then it fizzled out. It was really reassuring, though, to have a bunch of people to spend time with whose babies were at almost exactly the same stage as mine, so we were all dealing with the same issues.

Also, some of the information you learn at the classes is actually useful, so it can be worth going even if you end up with a bunch of people you don't bond with. Pregnancy is a time when a lot of women are very very information-hungry, because most of us have had very little experience of babies until we suddenly find ourselves responsible for one. I imagine that's even more so if you're expecting two. So I can totally understand why your OH wants to go. Hope it wasn't as bad for you as you feared. :)

Does she know anybody else who's having twins? It might be helpful for her to see if Tamba have anything going on anywhere near you.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
