I have developed terrible man flu. However, I bravely fought through it and spent the day making and fitting a new loft hatch and went to the co-op which had 20 sausage rolls yellow stickered to 39p.

    Just ate the lot.

Horrid drinks tonight for non drinkers, and the first time I have seen what looked like a chicken nugget dressed up as a canap! and gathering seemed to reek of desperation, disaffection and alcohol. We didn't stay that long but feel we showed our faces and dropped of a bottle to show willing, came home and had a cucumber sandwich. Chicken nuggets?

I'd not look a gift horse in the mouth ... I'd be at those nuggets. I don't really know what a canape is, never had one ... isn't it just finger food? So nuggets'd fit!

Off to Wikipedia/Google canapes now, find out what they are.

I'm with you there PN, although it's nice to mix it up a bit so after scoffing the chicken nuggets I'd be looking for a plate of sausages on sticks.

I'm old enough to remember cheese balls which were the very thing to snack on at grown-up parties. They were covered with wafer and were soft and gooey and tasted like they were made by somebody who hated tongues.

Gregg's sausage rolls are pretty filthy as food goes, but also great. I think its because the sausagey bit (which must just be pretty much pink goo) is so moist. They are also fantastic for hangovers.

I bought Sainsburys cheap ones last week, and they were surprisingly nice.

    Welcome home Gen :)

About to have coffee no.4 this morning (I'm trying to get marketing automated for next few weeks), then I promise not to do anything until January 7th. No offence, but I'm not spending my time off on MSE, too.

Last night, during the night, one of our overstacked plastic bookshelves collapsed. Having established that's what it was we decided to deal with it today and get some sleep.

This morning kiwi walking through saw the devastation...and it does look quite bad, and just stood on the threshold and barked.

How can you not like cheesy footballs? We lay in a stash for Christmas as soon as they hit the shelves at T*sco. Our DD's love them. :)

I don't think I've ever had a cheesy football. Our food never varied much, there was an opinion of "we've enough food already, we don't need more", meaning we tended to stick with things we knew/liked, rather than continually trying new things. Although, to be fair, we did have Vesta curries in the 70s occasionally.
