Yes, but it'd be nicer if there were somebody 24/7 on hand to wait on me hand and foot, sympathise, bring me small treats and gifts, pick up some ointments/tablets and cook for me :)

It is not all it is cracked up to be, and you feel guilty. My poor OH is exhausted.Roll on doing it for myself and doing stuff for others.

But also he's not there 24/7. Notice how key your community, friends and colleagues have been in your contact and care over time...

Our partners have to go on. Ointments / pills can be delivered, as can food.

The rest is harder certainly, but friends and social contact form a huge part of it, even when there is some one or people who are very special. Its important to let those people live too.

    Excellent! Well done!

I suspect that there's scope for a small business doing this for other people.

I know of people that do this. I don't think it is a good service as it doesn't encourage the user to take on the responsibility going forward.

Flat on my back again. Sigh. Very boring, and cold.

Meeting brought frustrating results too. Which means annoying decisions. But think I've made them.

Final annoyance, old bathroom floor finally went today!

Was there something in particular that brought this on?

Ah, bless her, she's mastered the art of taking stuff off the chair and putting it back in the same place, without you knowing.:D

I've no idea about dog psychology; we are collectively a pack, where I go, they go. I sit on furniture, they do:o, but I've never asked them not to. Bed wise, only Ruby kips there, the rest sleep on the floor through choice.

I am in love, quite deeply. My wallpaper on the phone is just Ruby's muzzle area with a smile - she lies on her back and relaxes and then the smile starts.

I generally think its easier to teach them to sit on a specific chair /bed or blanket on a chair than not to get on the furniture. Its why often ours are not left in certain rooms.

I'm also aware that for bony dogs like dog dog its always going to be more comfortable on a sofa than on the floor. Only an idiot would choose the floor when no one is there if they can get away with something nicer. I'd find an idiot less interesting to spend time with frankly.

However, the 'good beds' do prove viable alternatives to the sofas, and the dog's accept and confirm this. We listen to what they say too, but do expect to be listened to when we set fair parameters. E.g. Poor GDb and lady GDb had to endure a conversation In the car that went something like

'' that big house there was a I can see your paw on the parcel shelf national trust building but still see the paw, in the boot please, isn't any more. Thank you, but I'm still watching you."

If lady GDb wasn't scared meeting nice people ....:rotfl:

This afternoon I have taken Ben across the road for a short walk.

We were out for about 20 mins but I only went a very short distance,
nonethe less it is another milestone.

I put a gilet on, but cannot mnage to get a coat on so it was bit nippy.

My menstrual cycle confuses all the other hormones which seems to confuse the neuro bit. I have raging sciatica ( normal for many of course) but I have also a neurological disconnect with legs. Less normal. :D. My hands are not much more dexterous than lobster claws, ( two finger typing) and as final insult I have TGN in both sides quite viciouslly and a massive dose of the 'normal' neuro pains and cramps.

On top I have normal menstrual cramps, back aches etc, etc. so I'm altogether rather jolly tonight :D

My guess is it will all recede with the period.

No. He had to be at the hospital by 4pm. He put up with me until about 4.30 and then sent me away. He may not be done until late and it could be very late by the time I can fetch him home.

    Poor guy.

On the plus side, it might mean that he sleeps straight through the night and his system /body clock isn't too whacked out but the GA.
