A while ago, some summer time, I went on a weird unseasonal sprout frenzy and felt like it was all I wanted. Steamed sprouts, sprout pasta......
Sprout pasta was something we had just after xmas last year not bad at all, bacon would have made it better but the wife is veggie. When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -
I think I must be a dinosaur. Whilst I am all in favour of breast feeding, I can't see anything wrong with Claridges' response. They have a range of clientele, and they need to try to please as many as possible.
One hotel restaurant I was in had a ban on trainers, so I had dinner in my socks. I thought it was a bit silly and pretentious of them, but I wasn't shocked or affronted. I have not eaten dinner there again, but that was because it was not that good.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Claridges? Bf? I'm guessing this is so e story I've missed?
I'd rather have supper in my socks, lovely and comfortable, and if the floor were shiny you could slide along a bit.
I think the thing is some diners do pay for the experience and atmosphere partly too and for them the idea of sitting in a room full of denim and trainer clad majority ( which might happen with no dress codes.....) would be a loss. I sort of feel with dress codes if people want to do it so be it.
With breast feeding I feel its different, if a baby gotta eat, he gotta eat. I'd rather sit near a breast feeding baby than a screaming one. ( personally I think its rather a wonderful thing anyway).0 -
Knee feeling MUCH better. I walk like Lurch out of Adams family or the MUnsters,,,,,( which is which?) I'm the one that ......is the butler, not the husband, but it can drive and walk and stuff and do stairs ( in my own unique fashion) and everything.

By next week I might be able to waterski or something.
Edit, ( just wondering if I might be able to go up and down ladders.....I really miss being able to use ladders, Its so helpful to use ladders. )0 -

This is bl00dy ridiculous. In the 21st century, where images of half clad, fake women are plastered all over the place, someone deems to be offended by a mum with her family, enjoying a rather expensive meal. The person offended was a waiter, I doubt any member of the public even noticed.
The picture without the napkin looks far more discreet. She's hardly got her baps out on the table for everyone to gawp at.
I'm tired of it. Leave breastfeeding mothers alone. What is all the fuss about? Women show more than that walking down the street. Nudity is okay if it's sexy, apparantly. That lady is beautiful and discreet.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

.
I didn't read that, I read that the waiter ( Nd super visor) implemented procedure ( even if there was no complaint) but tbf if that's whT their bosses demand then why should they jeopardise their jobs if they are caught not following procedure by a manager?
IMO its quite a big difference in apportionIng blame.
( fwiw if I were on the adjoining table and sW the upset I might have complained to the staff about asking them to ask her to cover up. That's the best way we can support this right to bf as people who aren't bf parents IMO.0 -
I'm an old git, and even I think that woman should breastfeed wherever they like. However, I think they're a small minority who are trying to show off their breastfeeding like some Fairground attraction to provoke a reaction, and their five minutes of fame in the papers.0

They say that breastfeeding is allowed by they ask that it is discreet. That, to me, is discreet. When asked if it was policy to make them cover everything (including the baby) they just repeated that the mum should be discreet. They've not said it was procedure.
I couldn't have shown off my boob if I'd tried to, while breastfeeding. I think that lady is similar
The problem is people being offended on behalf of others who are generally not. There were no complaints. Someone was being a jobsworth.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Do you think this lady looks like a fairground attraction?
If someone embarassed me and made me cry, I'd take to social media as well.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
