We've said hi, I didn't hide. Not the warmest of receptions, but might not have wanted to chat as it was a bit of a struggle to find food. At least that bit is out of the way.

I thought fir and I had after all managed Christmas alone when non res p asked this afternoon on phone if we were having a certain dish on Christmas Day. Very clever inviting oneself tactic.

Fir thinks its hilarious too, and as has healthy chunk of time off is not put out.

My mum took me to get my nose pierced... I'd never really thought about getting it done, but my mum wanted to get her's pierced so we went along together :rotfl:

I am needle phobic and squeamish about piercings, when folk started getting twitchy about eye brow /lip/chin tongue piercings I could admit to feeling the same and about pierced ears. However I did not want my hangups to dominate DDs choices so we said she could have her ears pierced at 16, we agreed not multiple piercings as it would not be fair for me to face nausea inducing piercings everyday in my own home. some years later she got her navel pierced. that is truly yuk, but not on show (to me)and I have no cause to makeany adverse comment

If its too hard for me to do absolutely perfectly fir will do it for you but I might be able to manage it, I read / translate better than I speak certainly. Pm it to me :) or I can give you an email address. :). I might well be able to do it myself :) Happy to help in either case. :)

Edit: just checked with fir, he says I am 'more than capable ' ( huh, I don't feel that about anything any more, lol) but he'll happily check before I return it to you' , especially in case I've done a lir word replacement

So I have sold a phone on Ebay. Through some Ebay programme that I didn't know I was part of, overseas buyers can bid and if they win the item I only have to send it to a UK forwarding Ebay station and the rest is dealt with by Ebay. So an italian bidder wins.

Messages are exchanged and google translate can cope with most, but the tenses seem wrong and I don't what "the streets" are and I don't understand the last message.

Scusate ma visite fatto il pagamento oggetto numeri xxx

GT: sorry but visits done the payment number xxx

voglio sapere se viestato fatto il pagamento grazie

GT: I want to know if the payment was made through the streets

Non mi fa fare il pagamento o caricato la PayPal

GT: I am not making the payment or loaded Paypal

Infatti non mi fanfare ocaricato la PayPal non mifa fare cisono 1000 euro

GT: In fact I am not doing or charge to the paypal does not make me do there at 1000 euro

I assume this all means that he would incur too a high a charge to use paypal (the only payment method for overseas bidders in this programme). So I message back that he needs to decide whether to pay or to cancel. - either is fine I just need to know.

    I then get this reply:

Voglio pagare con PayPal come osempre fatto si ebey ma non mi fa pagate aspettiamo a domani che controllo la scheda PayPal grazie

GT: I want to pay with PayPal as osempre did you Ebey but I'm not paid to expect tomorrow to check the card through PayPal

    ( this is gobbledigook.....)

May its trying to ask...um, dunno. Maybe its Italian text speak? Or a foreigner speaking Italian! Its words strung together......I asked fir and he said 'boh?' Which is a sort of an Italian word for ...I don't know the answer to this stupid question and its vaguely insulting you think I understand this madness. :). Its a great word 'boh'. Anyway, it might be a colloquial phrase or way to string random words to general, cannot help more than the translation....

I want to know if the payment was made ( nothing about streets! )

its not letting me make the payment. I* have loaded paypal. Indeed its not letting me pay through paypal but there's 1000 euros there ( as in in paypal account)
I assume this all means that he would incur too a high a charge to use paypal (the only payment method for overseas bidders in this programme). So I message back that he needs to decide whether to pay or to cancel. - either is fine I just need to know.

i want to pay with paypal as I have always done but its not letting me. Let's wait til tomorrow and I'll check my paypal . Thank you.

The Italian isn't very good I thought, so called fir! The problem is the Italian is a bit lacksidaisical so the translator software is struggling I think ( I didn't know the word to load...I learnt something! And that whole first message was like....and fir said I think the person might not be Italian and now its easier. ).

I think that she does want to pay by paypal but pay pal is not working, she's asking you to be patient for a nother day.

I think I have the hang of it now. I can help with more if there is more. :)

Yes, I think ebay recently enrolled everybody automatically into their "Global Shipping Programme". I vaguely remember receiving a notification about it.
You can opt out through your account, site preferences and setting "Offer the Global Shipping Programme" to 'No'.
Sorry, can't help with the Italian translation. :o
