Lydia, there are lots of these spray type taps on amazon from about £35 upwards. I find the looks a bit too industrial for my taste, especially considering that taps ought to last twenty or thirty years at least. In a few years, they may go out of fashion and become the kitchen equivalent of avocado bathroom suites. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Gotta be honest, I've never understood the great battles between girls and Mums about ear piercing, it seems so innocuous.
When The Girl expresses any sort of strong desire to have her ears pierced she can. At the moment she says she wants to if asked but never brings the subject up.
When she asks and can articulate why she wants them done then I'm good with that. (Not because all her friends are having it done). She's paying though. I have veto over the place: I don't want her getting Hep C because she chose somewhere crappy.
Those taps with hoses? Fantastic.
Really bored at work now. I don't have anything to do except surf the interwebs. I have gone back through the last 3 months of Dilbert. The Head of Trading suggested I sit with them for a part of the next few days. Think I'll take him up on it.0 -

My mum took me to get my nose pierced... I'd never really thought about getting it done, but my mum wanted to get her's pierced so we went along together :rotfl:0 -

This is it ... there was certainly something in the olden days about girls/ear piercing and undesirability/unemployability - seems a bit odd in these days of girls with low slung trousers and tatoo's up their 4rses on show. But that was how it was.0 -
re: taps.
I have enjoyed the pointable squirt taps before. They are useful for washing up large items as you can usually rinse them without flooding the work surface and floor.
But I am not a fan of cheap unbranded taps. There's a thread on the DIY board with the destroyed result of cheap fittings after a few years. I've had experience of a kitchen tap that didn't even manage that long. Not a terrible drama, but they invariably don't last.
We've had one like this from this brand before:

But I'd be looking for something with a really good weight to it and a sensible length of guarantee.
Bristan, for example, have very good customer service. They will come out a rectify problems for a fee which they refund if the tap is faulty. http://www.bristan.com/kitchentapsEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Reviews on it aren't that great pn.
Today bad knee and ankle are joined in misery by hither too good knee. Had to go down stairs on bottom again this morning. Its not agonising or anything, I'm just aware it works far too hard for a knee and I think its that rather than anything else. Me, bad knee, bad ankle, swollen head, hitherto good knee and all are lying back down having medicated. We'll feel fighting fit in a while.0 -

Did no-one tell him they are removable.
Also boys and mothers or fathers. Why would they want to have their ears pierced? They both did but at an age where they didn't need consent. One of the mother roles I never thought I would have is helping them re-insert after they had removed them for a NSFW occasion.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. .
I went back and got them done again which caused the big stink.
( not a mature reaction which is a sad reflection on me, but nevertheless it was satisfying)
Thing is, while I wanted them done I was a bit iffy about it too. took a best friend and boy friend and was not sure.
My mother had been through it Years and years before with sibling. Was ok about it...not so much extra holes but....had different hopes and expectations for me.
Wasn't about the jewellery so much but the holes, permanent marks.0 -
We once got an 'interactive' doggy toy similar to this one

Doggy is supposed to move the sliders to uncover the treat. Our westie didn't really get along with it, he just sniffed it, then sat down and started whining until one of us pushed the slider hiding the treat.
Hey ho, at least I got some mental stimulation out of it.
