Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Is he the one on the left or on the right. Looks like he could do with a shave!

I am just thinking about kitchen vents now. I want to get a vent fitted now, but not have my final kitchen fitted, so the decorative finish will not be complete for sometime.
Its really important to me the extractor is not to low. My mother's have always been at the right height for her and its a pita. I'd rather have one lots higher so others can use the blighter when I'm no longer able to. Pinpointing the height that should be with ought doing kitchen is quite tricky.0 -

Yes, it's not until it's in place that you can know if it's right.... and not easy to cobble up a fake one to test heights as whatever you cobble up will also need to be adjustable for height/depth/width as you mull over the options.0 -
I have never yet banged my head on the cooker hood, it is 5' 3" off the ground and I am 5' 6" tall. The handles of the oven protude 5" further than the hood, so maybe that explains it. Or maybe if you are clearly taller than it you are more aware of it.

Sounds similar proportions as my mother's hoods and me. I have. Several times. When you are really busy, spinning about the kitchen in full flow its pretty easy. Also around that height add heels and things change again.0 -
That's brilliant:D
I was wondering wehre NDG was, not that I can say much having been on the missing list for a while.
I work on the theory that if the inside of an oven needs cleaning, then get a new one.
New kitchen was put on the back burner so to speak, as the visible from outer space hedge changed from a really good cut back to an up root and put in fencing panels. About a third of the way through the fence panels, the wall became unstable, so down came the wall and then up went the new wall before the remainder of the fence panels went back. There was nearly 5k I hadn't budgeted for!0
