Poor dd michaels. Fainting is one thing, but vomiting in conjunction and hitting head too seems fairly worrisome.
Hope she feels brighter today.0 -
This is exactly why I prefer to leave cleaning the top of the oven to the professional over cleaning person every once in a while. I can cope with a bit of carbonised food being on there, but strong chemicals in such close proximity to food doesn't feel like a good idea to me. The oven cleaning person told me that the materials they use are much less chemically nasty than the oven cleaners sold for household use - because they take the thing nearly to bits to clean it, they can get it clean with gentler stuff.
Note to self - haven't had oven cleaning person for ages. Must get him back in. And the piano tuner.
Unsurprisingly we don't have a professional. But I agree the job they do is IN CREDIBLY good.
Fir cleaned our oven 'properly' ( but not professionally) yesterday morning. I put the shelves through the Dw every now and then, but they don't come out perfect, and wipe the base ( and ask fir to wipe base of lower oven) removing carbonised food.
I by no means keep ours professionally clean.....but am motivated to keep it reasonably clean.0 -

Not sure if it's too bulky, but on the face of it, it's better (but bigger) than our slip into pocket Canon and I love our one.
That sounds like a cracking deal, but as PN says, the website is down
You're not a slob, Lydia.Do any of the NP clean their ovens after every use? It has never occurred to me do that. Am I a slob, or are the people who comply with the recommendation to clean after every use being OCD about it??
We clean ours when we both come to the conclusion of 'hmm yes it does look a bit grubby now, time for a clean'0 -
Apparently, LIR was spotted going for a test drive in her RR.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I plan/need to read about it thoroughly, then take it apart to find out what sort of inserts it needs (does it?)... and get some/fit them. And all the removable parts need to be de-gunked thoroughly......
I suspect it vents to the outside world, but not sure.
A lot of hoods are this design and have panels that unclip and can go in the dishwasher. Usually there is a simple latch mechanism. Annoying..... I am having to use yahoo.co.uk for searches instead!
Google is the only site that won't load - and it won't load in any browser.
Try google.co.uk
Sounds like you have loaded another search engine that is blocking others.

People always install cooker hoods at head height (for me), and those square corners do a lot of damage. My main criterion for choosing one now is that it has to have rounded corners. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Well, just check if there's any vent outlet on your outside wall.PasturesNew wrote: »I plan/need to read about it thoroughly, then take it apart to find out what sort of inserts it needs (does it?)... and get some/fit them. And all the removable parts need to be de-gunked thoroughly......

We have one of those non-venting ones, it just catches the gunk and that's it. It's !!!!. You can get cheapo filters on ebay though.
I'd love a vented one, but our hob isn't near any outside wall.0 -

No dishwasher. All cleaning in this house is done by hand. Bit of a nuisance when it comes to oven racks as they're bigger than the sink.0
