I was wondering wehre NDG was, not that I can say much having been on the missing list for a while.

I work on the theory that if the inside of an oven needs cleaning, then get a new one.

We lived in a flat in Milan with all the original furniture and appliances! ( apart from washing machine) was very cool. Gas oven was in perfect working order. :D

The wardrobe was my favorite though, so beautifully made it was heart breaking. Not my style, but so beautifully done I didn't care, to use such great workmanship was a joy.

I know that an NP texted them 1-2 weeks ago to check .... so assume all must be OK else we'd know.

Just checked my Java installation is up to date (random things we do when searching solutions) - and also checked for any old versions that could be dispensed with (none found). So that's all OK.

It's all so time consuming. Reboot, check, read, run, try, reboot, try again, find another solution, read, check, click links to read more, try something else, check, reboot, blah blah blah. I'm fiddling with stuff full-time here and have been, pretty much, since early yesterday evening.

Do you still need Java? I'm pretty sure that I removed it ages ago, and I haven't noticed any problems. Java is not the same as JavaScript.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

That's kind of ... not the right answer!!

What do we do now then?

My guess is she is busy. Two kids, big family. :). Back at work ? I'll contact her again closer to Christmas.

Good plan. I found it hard when I knew I was going away for 5 days, but didn't want to announce it on the Internet :)

Well, probably not. But I know some websites want it, and as it was available to check and I had no idea where a fix might be found, I thought "might as well".

I find a lot of webcams (beach ones) tend to not let me view them and say I need Java, and then I install it, then sites still don't load ... and I forget all about them until next time I want to see waves.

I found that Java was slowing the PC down, and I think there are security issues with it. So, that's why I removed it.

I'll Yahoo how to remove it then. It always seemed to me to be something that you had to have, whether you liked it or not, as so much relied on it.

Uninstalling it now, from Add/Remove Programs.

It's easy to restore if it turns out you need it.
