I forgot to write about the Hot tap last night
> Lir We got an unbranded boil tap with filtered cold water (back for boil / fwd for filtered. It's small and neat and cost about £300.
Use it all the time and never get the kettle out (which was the original point so as to keep the white Corian sink side all clutter free). At work it feels odd now to have to wait for the kettle to boil.
If you can fit one in the budget, worth having.
We had hot taps fitted at work. They are hardly ever both working. I guess that they are heavily used, and perhaps weren't the best quality chosen, but still. Everyone also complains that they don't run hot enough to make a good cup of tea either.
Like I said, I expect they didn't opt for the deluxe range, but still.0 -

I read that as 'We had top hats fitted at work' and thought 'Eh??'
Big congratulations to the dd hjdI get my results next week
“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I have his book, I Blame the Scapegoats. It's quite good. A bit whiny too though. It's Not FAAAAAAIR. If you like books by journalists, Give War a Chance: The Fight Against Injustice, Tyranny and Alcohol-free Beer by PJ o'Rourke is an absolute cracker. It's written about the time that communism was falling apart and is funny, accurate (kinda) and scathing.
I'm a big Matthew Parris fan. His columns are pretty good considering and I liked the thing he did when he tried to live off benefits for a week.
I can recommend All the Trouble in the World. A belter of a read. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Huge congratulations to HJD the younger....
Taken my very strong pain killers tonight, can barely move and in a lot of pain, no idea why, haven't really overdone it, maybe I am sickening for something.
Josh got the result from one of the units he resubmitted on Friday, this was one where I took one look and nagged him horribly (my new nickname is The Dictator, or the worst nightmare teacher ever as I wouldn't let him hand it in again until it was a lot better, which took a fair few rewrites), he has gone from an ungraded to a merit. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Have you received the results of your scan?
They changed the date on me to Thursday. Should know by about 2am Thursday am your time.
Congrats also to the HJD-lette.0 -

That's the plus side of ME I guess - feel ill most of the time in some way, so you don't get the "this is it" thing, or only when it's chest pain. :eek:All my socks are the same colour - makes them easier to pair up. At one time, we had five different lots of men's socks going in the wash. Pairing them up was a significant issue. (Yes, I know, pair them up before washing them, with a clip to hold them together. Does anyone do that?)
We wash socks in mesh bags, but even with doing that we have a few singletons. I like garish patterned socks, current faves are red white and blue with anchors pattern. The fishes one comes a close second.Though my all time all time faves have cats on them, and they match my fave mug. I don't wear them very often now as they're getting a bit old and I want to prolong their life.

I'm on Denplan too, for me it's worth it now as have had 2 great dentists recently (the one before was a butcher) and I'm severely phobic after what the butcher did to me with veneers and several other things too. But Nice Lady Dentist was worth every penny, as is New Nice Bloke Dentist who is surprisingly gentle for a bloke. And he was very kind when I told him about my veneer fear last week. Nevertheless I'll be very glad when this course of treatment is done and dusted.0 -

There's a big row going on in Liverpool over the Mayor bought the Cunard Building to use as council offices and is putting in top range hot water tap things (tapgate!) though I thought they couldn't afford to do the place up for some reason? Not been following this stuff as well as I should. While moaning about the Mayor please can I beg for you all to sign the petition to not get rid of the Kazimier Club to build yet more posh flats  The easy way round this would be to ensure the new build flats had proper sound insulation to keep out the sounds of the clubs surely? <rolls eyes smilie> But that would cost more for the developers. But reason they want to go there anyway is cos it's trendy due to the clubs. Grrrr. Our Mayor is a big fat pile of s888e and we didn't even get the chance to vote if we wanted one. Grrrr. Plus he wants to sell off lots of our green spaces to developers to build posh houses. We hate him here.0
