John O'Farrell: Loved his "may contain nuts", liked "things can only get better" but thought it rather moany and self indulgent.

May try something else of his now you've reminded me of him.

Socks: At one point DS1 had ribbed, DS2 had unribbed and OH had socks from next that came with black "n"'s stitched onto them. All black.

Now DS2 (as a student) wears white socks with trainers, he worked out that it was cheaper to buy new from Primark than to do a wash at the launderette. Except he keeps rather than discards and so comes home with enough socks to see him through the term!

I have his book, I Blame the Scapegoats. It's quite good. A bit whiny too though. It's Not FAAAAAAIR. If you like books by journalists, Give War a Chance: The Fight Against Injustice, Tyranny and Alcohol-free Beer by PJ o'Rourke is an absolute cracker. It's written about the time that communism was falling apart and is funny, accurate (kinda) and scathing.

I'm a big Matthew Parris fan. His columns are pretty good considering and I liked the thing he did when he tried to live off benefits for a week.

The cleaners warned me to check the sofa cushions before they came. One of them said one wouldn't believe what is found in people's sofas. I have found pretty amazing things in our sofas, but have done the big sofa and the kitchen one with throws more thN cushions very regularly. I haven't done the one with cushions in the sitting room for a while......

And boy I know that now.

Two jumpers, a puppy nylabone ( the varity he still likes, last time he played with them any way) about half a dozen teatowels, a double sized blanket, folded ( I have a feeling I put that there as extra stuffing, it might have to go back) a light Cotton throw....all in a bundle, two magazines, a sock.

Its not surprising I haven't been choosing to sit on that sofa so much really.

    a puppy nylabone

What breed is a Nylabone? Is that like a Labradoodle or one of those other new ones? I'm a bit shocked you didn't notice one of your dogs going missing TBH LIR.

Lifestyle dog not breed I guess....it stead of NYLON, its NewYork Los Angeles, hence my suprise at finding the skinny creature here.

I am not getting one, but I do keep thinking about a Chinese created. I think kiwi and a chi sse crested would look like hilarious pixie creatures together.

We buy sliced bread, so can freeze it and just take out what we need. Lidl do nice bread, baked on the premises, well they do in the stores I go to.
Same here. Saturday morning I get 2 large granary sandwich loaves from the local bakery, and most of it goes into the freezer in portions of 4 slices for my work sandwiches.
    Surprisingly good movie.

    Watched Live Die Repeat tonight.

Also surprisingly good for what it is.

Is that also known as Edge of Tomorrow? I liked it a lot, despite having low expectations and not being a Tom Cruise fan.

    :) It's a dog chewy thing.

Some of them are rather weirdly shaped.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Yes it is.

Interestingly, they appear to have changed the title for video/digital release.
Studios often lament the fact they have to remarket a movie when it’s about to hit home entertainment platforms, costing them millions in extra advertising dollars.

But in “Edge of Tomorrow’s” case, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment appears to be embracing the chance for a redo and is touting the film’s “Live Die Repeat” slogan over the film’s actual title.

On the film’s DVD and Blu-ray disc packaging, available for purchase Oct. 7, the title doesn’t even appear until Cruise and co-star Emily Blunt in the same line.

And on many video-on-demand services, the title is actually is listed as: “Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow.”
