There are somethings that make me feel pretty guilty. One is cuddling the squeaker just before I put her in the box to take her to the vet for another urine sample. ( really taking big dog in today )

She's making hilarious Jim Henson sort of noises and movements ( we sometimes call her Jim henson) and just let out a huge noisy sigh. Something a little like a bagpipe slowly deflating. Then crumpled into a purr.

Poor thing, now in have to shove her in a box.

Just what is involved in extracting the pee from a cat?

Edit: No, don't answer! Mr google found it for me. You just need to persuade your cat to urinate in a litter tray without any litter in it. Easier said than done, I imagine.

Edit again: and how is big dog faring?

Simpler than that, you extract it with a very, very fine needle. Through the belly. You just need them to have a full enough bladder. It sounds horrid, but its not so bad at all, going by their reaction.

Just back from one of nearest villages. I normally have a bit of an uncomfortable thing about war memorial. I'm a sort of conscientious objector to glorification of atrocities.

But just seen a beautiful thing. In the centre of the village people were all coming out of their front doors to stand in silence in the miserable weather. Others stopped their cars and got out and stood in front of them. I pulled over. Others just drove through. It was all by choice.

It was really quite poignant. At the end people just went back in their houses, got in their cars etc.
