I'm guessing (and am probably wrong), that michaels meant the Muppet.
I'm not familiar with the mumsnet version.
.
The mumsnet beaker was a penis beaker.
It was such a sensation even I ( who live in a bubble immune to such things usually) heard of it and indeed even read most of the thing. It was indeed very funny at first. ( but got tired ....)
The premise was that the couple kept a beaker soley for the purpose of bedside intimate male ablution. It only struck the pair as unusual when a friend ( helping them selves to a drink) reached for the wrong vessel......and didn't seem aware of this usage so the wife had asked if any one else used a penis beaker.0 -

Oh yes. I am familiar with that one!
I'm pretty sure someone mentioned/ posted a link to it on here.
How could I forget? :eek:0 -

It was amusing.
I find it reminded me a little of those stories of people who got married ' in the old days' and went to bed and didn't have children and when they eventually sought help learnt that it wasn't actually 'sleeping ' together or ' sharing a bed' or whatever that you had to do.
It makes me sad for them0 -

Someone in Eastenders had babies called Bert and Ernie recently so that would appear to be off the table!
