Escape to the Country on now BBC1... I don't see how this is going to work! Couple with 400K and their widowed neighbour with 400K and the couple want more space than the singleton (2 offices + bedroom) where singleton only wants 2 bedrooms... How on earth are they going to split the equity stuff? At least first one is 2 seperated cottages that could be sold seperately... But it just seems such a bad idea to me - what happens if they fall out?

Also, lots of stairs, gardens and maintenance issues for a bunch of people who will struggle to cope with it all in 10-15 years' time.

Crazy! And I was beginning to think we were stupid to move to our semi with biggish garden... At least it isn't 3/4 acre! We loved house so much we reckoned if we could have 10 years in it once it was renovated it would be worth. The 10 years haven't really started yet as we still need to repave front drive (a mess) and sort out back patio/yard. ;):o :rotfl: But we've been in the house for just over 3 years I think now. But we have a new roof, and it's all done inside.

Now getting half an allotment really was crazy! :rotfl: But I do love it, and it's somewhere I get to actually talk to real people (not that I don't love my virtual friends, but it is nice to occasionally get to exchange a few words with someone in Real Life IYSWIM). Just it's hard to get to weed it at the mo, the soil is really waterlogged, plus we're mainly trying to clear old home.

Maybe they are for ing a sort of m!nage in reality?

    ( didn't see it).

In less base supposition I can see it working for some groups of close friends.

Went to see neighbour ( where courier had miss delivered post...grrrrrr) and while there apologised again for kiwis forays into the farmyard and said when hedge has got to mid winter we'll chicken wire it up.

    She said...

'Don't you dare! I was actually going to suggest we cut a run through for him so he had a clearer route though....

No. No. We want him here. He loves the rats doesn't he? '

At last, they are admitting the rats!

Simpler than that, you extract it with a very, very fine needle. Through the belly. You just need them to have a full enough bladder. It sounds horrid, but its not so bad at all, going by their reaction.

So pleased to hear that big dog is doing okay for the time being.

It sounds pretty gruesome having the cat's pee tested like that. I'm still crossing my legs.

Maybe, there's a market for cat litter that turns a different colour if there's too much sugar in the cat's pee? The extra cost of the cat litter would be offset by a saving in vet's bills.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Kiwi is lovely. No wonder he's popular.

Hmm, I am feeling very paranoid? Towards the end of that programme we were just discussing (Escape to the Country) I caught sight of a youngish bloke walking past our house through the blinds, and I felt he was looking in, and I had a feeling he was going to ring the bell, and he did. Because I thought he prob saw me through the blinds I answered the door.

He waved a photo thingy at me that I couldn't see (can't see anything detailed without my glasses) told me he was doing an "important government survey" and there were only a couple of easy questions to answer. That "No. x at whatever road" (our address) was on his list to ask. I said he'd have to come back when my husband was here and speak to him. Just had bad feeling about him. This was between around 3.30 and 4.00, my reply to PN was ready to send (but unsent) when he rang the doorbell.

OH just contacted the cops (he refused for ages and said I was paranoid), who asked immediately if we were in St Helens (as there is a survey happening there, and they tell the cops if they are doing house to house surveys usually). I gave description of the bloke to the nice lady on phone. I just feel I was really stupid, but I was watching TV and not thinking "Security". But our report is going to be circulated to local cops, and they will keep an eye open for him ask the chap questions if they see him.

Am I just paranoid, or should I be worried?

Crossing your legs is fine, so long as you stretch out your belly at the same time, the cats never turn a hair....and they can make a fuss about spot on flea treatment :rotfl:

He's a bit of an odd bod. He won't let the neighbours catch him or anything, but he's happy to tramp around their place:o

He likes it when HE says hello first, not when people approach him. If people approach him he might ignore them forever. But people who ignore them when he says hello he things are deluded...'cannot they see I'm cute?'

My vet was selling Christmas pudding costumes for small dogs. I was a little tempted I admit, but the felt horrible fabric.

Maggie, the police would always rather know.

I think if you felt uncomfortable you should be guided by it.
