I've not done much today, but plenty of little jobs.
I awarded myself the day off to celebrate my birthday - going out with friends this evening.
DS was sent home from work unwell today; there seems to be a bug going round, but luckily it seems to be short-lived and is only cold/fluey rather than the winter sickness one.
Yeah,I don't even think I have the flu, just a funny little coldy thing....just knocking me a bit heavily.
More importantly
happy birthday!0 -
Someone else wants to come in today to "assess" me. I am being agreeable to everyone at present but can honestly say I am mostly finding well qualified professionals deployed on asking the bleeding obvious, with the intention of delegating any rquirement to a care worker, with no stroke specific skills, or alternatively telling me what I need but will not get, is starting to annoy me.
I'm not surprised :mad:0 -

I sympathise.
I've got much the same, not flu, just a cold, but makes me feel quite poorly and stops me sleeping properly. The lack of sleep is getting to me.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I just had a sneaky mini bowl of fish pie. I feel much better.
I think I forgot to eat again. Sheesh. Why did I stop keeping food diary?? Asked RP if they'd seen me eat and tried to Id dishes in the dish washer. Much easier just to write things down.0 -

Sending hugs and hoping for further improvement.
I don't like Ikea, it is too Tesco to me - ie we think we have a brand that whilst not premium lets us get away with charging slightly more for the same product.
I would love to be able to afford real wood everywhere, it is wonderful especially when freshly sawn/planed.
Yes, this is how I feel.
You can best sum up my attitude to furniture by saying it's the equivalent of the attitude to houses of those people on LLL who want a character property. Strangely enough, I'm not particularly bothered about whether the house has character, as long as the furniture and other things inside it do.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

That was pretty much what I had thought to be honest, more to do with the compression or relaxing in my spine due to the EDS.
Today somebody asked me if I thought DS might have EDS. He doesn't have any of the problems you describe James suffering, but his fingers bend back much further than they ought to, and he is having difficulty at school because writing is painful for him. Does that sound familiar to you, Sue, or was the person who spoke to me barking up the wrong tree?I've not done much today, but plenty of little jobs.

I put together a Malm double width chest of drawers on Sunday. We converted my old office into a flat, and the new tenant wanted a chest of drawers, so Malm naturally. It took about 3 hours to put it together, but I'd be a lot quicker if doing it again.
Interesting, do you need to get planning approval to convert an office to a dwelling?lostinrates wrote: »Yes, we have billies.
malm is much better quality than billy IMHO. kids had billy bookcases that gaped at the back. The plastic thingummys that were meant to hold the backing in vertical columns aren't up to the job. The trim also comes away too easily.
We once bought a display unit in Wembley IKEA that had been delivered there by mistake, apparently it was only for the Swedish stores. So we got it cheap and no-one knows it's from IKEA.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
