Mrs. Wheezy is a terrible hoarder. She hoards it all.
The other day we bought one of those edwardian corner cabinets with the top bit being a display cabinet with 3 wooden shelves and a light in the top.
We thought it would be a good idea to have those wooden shelves replaced by glass ones so the light can shine all over the 3 shelves on her crystal bits and it does indeed look much better now.
But then she wanted to keep the wooden shelves 'just in case we might need them one day'. :undecided

Mrs Generali wanted to collect all the weekly TV guides. All of them. So she could look back at them.

Question: leave utility unheated or bung in some underfloor? Don't expect it would be heated very often at all, the dryer makes it quite warm in there, maybe electric underfloor is worth considering, very small floor space, very small room.....

Perhaps a small heat source to help overnight drying in winter. Something like low power heated rails that you can turn on and off.

No wall space available at all:o. But I could hand a heat lamp on ceiling...

    Good solution?

I'd leave it unheated. If you're drying in there, maybe consider a small dehumidifier, which could have uses in other parts of the house.

Yup. Any small source of heat so you can close the door overnight, have an air brick deal with the moisture and come in to clothes in the morning that you can dry with an iron at worst.

My clothes were in piles on the floor until I bought a 2nd Argos hanging rail. I swear by them, no fixings and they just fit together a treat. When moving they took up the space of a regular umbrella in the car and I knew I'd always have a hanging rail. I hung up the clothes I could on the rail, then what was left fitted into three small plastic boxes, which are stacked.

Nothing's ironed though - I don't own an iron/board at the moment. Will do soon, Argos £4 iron and a £12 ironing board - I've been checking out prices. But, for now, I can at least see what clothes I've got, even if they don't fit me, or mix/match with other random things. The skirts/trousers/jackets "for work" are now 7-14 years old, but it's better to have something than nothing and they're not too shabby.

I will admit to having hoarded 2-3 pairs of jeans where the zip's bust. It's a tough call, often, whether to have the zip fixed or toss the jeans because the price I've bought them at the fixing costs more than getting the zip replaced, so I hold onto them in case I find somebody affordable that can do the whole lot in one go (probably get a cheaper price for a few pairs rather than one).

I did see something that was promoted for caravans, like a heat exchange unit, but obviously small/portable. I'll google for it. Worth knowing it exists even if it's unsuitable.

Edit, couldn't find it. Found this though, so thought I'd drop it in. No idea of prices and, of course, this could be a problem for [a] aesthetic reasons listed buildings. http://www.solarpoweredairheaters.com/videos.php

"she releases the crockery that she takes hostage on a regular basis" :rotfl:

DW and I occasionally go on scavenging trips to the children's rooms.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

that is actually how we speak "please can you release the hostages"

it has always worked, without conflict or a quarrel which was a miracle when she was a teen.
