How did you get on with the bid Pastures? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

We got rid of the front wall and didn't replace it. About half the houses on the street have no fence or wall. Benefits are the school kids don't sit/lean on it and drop litter inside, downside is lots of litter just drops/blows in.I think....0

Also, if they're 4rsing about, they can end up chasing each other across your frontage.0 -
The kitchen is fine. The living room can be made fine although a lot of the time it isn't. There's a large suitcase that's been in there for weeks with random stuff inside that I haven't got round to addressing. The whole house feels "not done". There are random piles and boxes of stuff in most of the rooms. The downstairs carpets are disgraceful. All rooms that DD has control of are more or less impassable - her original room, the spare room that she moved out into, and the playroom. The rest is just rather cluttered and not very organised. I'd like to live in a house where there are at least some flat surfaces that aren't covered in things, and where the rooms have been put together on purpose rather than containing whatever people couldn't think of anywhere else to put, IYSWIM.
Yes.
I know that feeling well as that was my house for a very long time. The way it worked for me (and this is only me, we all have our own ways of dealing with things), was to pick one small area of a room, never the whole room, to sort and do that. Then I would move onto the next area, maybe not the same session of clearing but I would set aside a little bit of time and tackle that one bit.
Ok, it takes more time but I found it was not quite so overwhelming (or tiring!) to do it this way. Setting smaller targets helped me feel not quite a failure because I had run out of time or was too tired to finish a room in a day. Do things at a pace to suit you, even clearing just a small amount of clutter a day is better than none at all and treat each bit of clearance as a triumph.
Please don't do what I did and look at the whole job, it scared the life out of me and made it all seem so impossible to do, hence why it got so out of hand..it was only when my analytical brain finally kicked in that I realised that just like with the boys when working on an aspect of their behaviour, that I needed to break it down into the smallest of components to finally overcome it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Mrs Furry comes in the morning for her 4th/last? visit. Not seen any for awhile, but I've not been looking.0

The above is my method too. The other thing I've done when I have a lot to do, is just clear a bit at a small room at a time so that there's a place that can be looked at that's completed. Even if it's a toilet or a spare bedroom, having it look finished is a big boost.
I wonder if it's like mushrooms... whether a maximalist approach to home styling is an NP norm. Though I've seen the pics of Casa Doozetti and the occasional pic of chez silver... they are stunning and clearly exempt. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yes, nothing is not really an option. I'm sure I'd end up with people just standing on my garden instead. Also I like the 'extra boundary' a wall/ fence creates. I know it doesn't add any security or distance from the road but still. Plus it's in the covenants on the title deeds (though who would enforce them I don't know).vivatifosi wrote: »I wonder if it's like mushrooms... whether a maximalist approach to home styling is an NP norm. My home is exempt from any styling except for 'student dive':0
