Had a rather bizarre phone call today from a TV production company.
Richard Branson says if you are given an opportunity, you should say yes and figure out how to do it later. I'm not sure Doozer thinks along the same lines as Richard Branson.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

....depends what they want from you and what type of show.
If it can promote your business in any positive way I would jump at it even if they go throughout that 'humiliate / belittle' the subject before the presenter 'saves the day'.
ETA..I thought it would be on in Oct but haven't seen a sign of a new series yet.
I was involved with a shop being 'done' by the new Mary Portas series and she weighed up the cons of the criticism etc against the positive gains of getting a great new shop fit and getting publicity on TV.0 -

We'd be the saviours. There's no analysis of anything we're doing, quite the opposite.
We're very busy and it is a huge commitment and a bit too short notice, but why would anyone turn down the PR involved in it? I think we should suck it and see. And trust our people.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sounds like great publicity, Doozergirl...0

I have a vague plan for growth but TBH I don't think that needs to be in place from the start.
As Woody Allen said, "80% of success is turning up". If I make the food and start selling it I have a chance to succeed. If I sit on my Arsenal wondering what to call the company or whether to wear a blue or red shirt then I will fail.
It's more than 80% IMHO. It's how political movements and whole countries get hijacked; the people who are always there are the secret revolutionaries. They'll make up the quorum, then take the minutes when the secretary misses a meeting and eventually chair the meetings. Pretty soon they're at the top. It's how dictatorships end up with idiots that can't run a bath, like Mugabe. Bet he never missed a meeting of the Zimbabwe Worker's and People's Revolutionary Socialist National Liberation Party ( or whatever) in his puff. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I remember watching that too. I was only 6 at the time and I only have one solid earlier memory (which was my first day at school).0 -
How much work do you need to do for nothing, in order to get how much publicity? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

And may be a day or two sooner, if he can get it.
Hope you get it and hope you have a great time. You both deserve it.Job interview tomorrow, but I have to be honest I'm not sure I want the job. Which in a way takes the pressure off a bit. I'll get a better idea about that tomorrow! Still waiting for a call about the perfect job in Blackfriars (moving to Canary Wharf in January), so I've got everything crossed for that one. The recruitment guy phoned me about it, and it's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, and I reckon I'm what they're looking for.
I'll stop going on anywayHope you're all well.
Good luck for the job interviews (and the girl).Mas - I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, so apologies if it comes across that way. But...
If you're not over the Bulgarian yet, is it such a great idea to be working on the next date? Whether or not she is still in her previous relationship.
Not intended as any kind of a criticism, but maybe something to consider?
I was wondering that too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Speaking very personally, I would also not to get involved with someone who is not over their previous partner either. As I've said before, I'm not up for competing. And I know I can be jealous (generally turns out there is a reason...).
I'm the same.HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Agree completely.
In my 'yoof' I had several relationships start that way.
They all ended the same way too......
People that search for the next while still with the last may flatter the ego in the short term, but one day you'll be the last and they'll be with the next.... Most definitely not worth the hassle.

Mas - hope the drink goes well. I didn't mean to suggest you were cheating or intending to. Just want you to take care of yourself.
What Nikkster said.
Nikkster - how is the thesis going?
I have done tons of marking today but very little housework. I only have a little marking left to do tomorrow, but will then need to set a test, writing all the questions from scratch, so that should give me plenty of excuses to put off the housework.
Won't be able to put off the housework forever, though. A friend is coming on Saturday, and my dad is staying over on Monday night, so will need to be ready for each of them.
