The tractor with triangular wheels...isn't it a really bumpy ride?

    Surprisingly not.

Some Japanese firm arranges weddings for single ladies. You get the whole wedding day, without actually having a bloke or getting married.

The Japanese invent some quite amazing things.

One of my colleagues came to work this week with absolutely fabulous looking hair. She cut it herself using some Japanese hair cutting device. You would never believe it if you saw her, there's youtube vids on how to do it and everything. One of these:

Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Crikey. Anyone watching the news? A rocket (thankfully unmanned) took off to go to the International Space Station and exploded on take off. I was watching the news and it was just a normal launch and then it blew up, probably about 100m above the pad. Early indications are that nobody is hurt but there has been significant damage to the site.

It's still a two man job; I'm waiting until they invent a gadget you choose a hairstyle from and stick your head in a box for 5 minutes :)

That looks fun. I want to go!

Though to be fair I'd go pretty much anywhere at the moment. But I can't.

It does doesn't it? Opens early next year. I'll find a young niece to take along and have a go at something too (just to try it out of course)

I have a vague plan for growth but TBH I don't think that needs to be in place from the start.

As Woody Allen said, "80% of success is turning up". If I make the food and start selling it I have a chance to succeed. If I sit on my Arsenal wondering what to call the company or whether to wear a blue or red shirt then I will fail.

We have been asked small start up advice many times over the years by acquaintances who want to quit being PAYE, have an idea and a redundancy payment and so on.
It's true about just getting on with it as most never do as they get bogged down in the 'surround' stuff (which is important up to a point) and then don't start as they never know what they will actually earn.

Have been asked so many times 'But how do you work out what you are going to turnover/ earn?'' and we have to reply honestly and reply that we don't ever know....especially if it's a new venture / product.

Sons GF asked the exact same thing over the WE/ (as she wants to set up an artist connected clothing line....I think) and I had to trot out the same old answer that 1st you have to make something and 2nd, sell it somewhere, then you'll get a feel of how to move it forward.

After all these years S/E I still couldn't assess accurately what our turnover / earnings will be in 9 months time. I can estimate and set targets and so on...but the reality is we don't know.

You get used to the fear though..... it gives ones working routine an 'edge'.;)

Was chatting to the UK factory today and got the name of the cycling clothing company he manufactures for. http://www.velobici.cc/vlobici-shop-28-w.asp

Apparently, they are utterly passionate about everything cycling and the clothing is busy now...I think they started making with him about 3 years ago. They export to Korea as well.

As my borrowed no longer toddler would tell you scathingly when he was still a toddler....that's tracks not wheels. He can also Id most aircraft, certainly as far as I can tell all military aircraft. ATM he's busy learning bugs, he was somewhat disappointed with me for not knowing a caterpillar I cannot find on any uk list :o. I don't know planes and know I fail at bugs, so I'm obviously good for nothing after all. :rotfl:

Mas - hope the drink goes well. I didn't mean to suggest you were cheating or intending to. Just want you to take care of yourself.

Oil stains don't show. When you have to put your chain back on you can wipe your hands on your shorts.

Also, mud splattered unfortunately up one's back and backside on raint days doesn't look as ominous as it would on white shorts.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
