Have given up trying to get on MSE on laptop so now on tablet. Did try to post earlier but it's gone missing in the ether. Oh well. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

For those with kids, this looks a fun thing for them to do.
Instead of a pink outfit a voucher for one of the 'Job' try-outs instead?

Sue, if you are seriously going to apply for PIP (and I think you should) I suggest you subscribe to Benefits and Work to get access to their notes on how to fill the form in. I only ever got DLA for 2 years at a time until I used the B&W notes, when I got Indefinite... Of course there's no such thing as that now, so am expecting to be called in though hopefully not before lateish 2015. But when they start re-assessing I'll be one of the first as was 64 at the cut off date, and they've said they're doing us who are now over 65 in first lot to be re-assessed. Anyway, if you can't get face to face help to fill in the form I recommend B&W - it's around £20 for a year's sub, but if you join their mailing list you'll find when they have special offers. Good Luck!
Edit: this was about 2 hours ago, MSE forums were down when I tried to post initially.
Thanks...I'm actually an old hand at filling the forms in as my two younger sons have disabilities so took note of how they were being filled in when I had help from the advisor at their special needs nursery (they are 16 and 18 now!) and take it from there.
We are unfortunately in one of the trial areas, so when youngest reached 16 this year, his indefinite child award had to be reapplied for under PIP rules....we are still waiting for any kind of assessment or news but at least his DLA at his old rates are still being paid until a decision is made (he receives high rate care and low rate mobility). If we had been in any other area, his DLA would have been extended for at least another year without an application for PIP until PIP came in in that area.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Taking my hand to some DIY (mainly painting) before Malta, as the house hasn't been done for over 10 years.
Stripped the wallpaper already, and trying to get the house painted in entirity before going to Malta.
Will post photos when it's done, although still trying to decide if red is the right colour to put with a brown/grey/purple colour up the stairs.💙💛 💔0 -

That looks fun. I want to go!
Though to be fair I'd go pretty much anywhere at the moment. But I can't.0 -

It'll become part of the routine. At the moment he's stressy because, presumably, he feels the need to intervene and 'help'.
Once you get all get used to what is wanted and needed then it will become a lot simpler. Might I suggest that a teeny bit of it could be to do with getting over the British embarrassment about having 'staff'? Personally, I've never had a problem watching the cricket or whatever while the cleaner did her thing but loads of Brits seem to.0 -

I think you're right!
If the product is right it'll sell. There's nothing good or bad about Tesco, Northern Rock, Toyota or Coca Cola as names. What they do well or badly is what made them succeed or fail as companies.0 -
Well, marketing, location, timing, chance/luck too.I think you're right!

It's not the best, or best name, that wins, it's all in the marketing and getting the marketing right. Marketing might be a sudden meeting you attend, happen to stand next to a bloke who lives in the next road, who then turns out to want/need what your area of specialism is that week/month or on his shortlist to pursue shortly. And/or, you randomly bump into the same bloke at some other event and he spots you and has, since, got a contact name for you.
What is important is to price in the cost of getting bigger and/or employing staff, and/or providing wholesale/discounts/trade prices to your retail prices from the start.... else you can never grow or replace yourself if you want a week off.0
