    Happy sigh.

I didn't want you to have neurotically problems like me, to type like me and fall over like me. But now you are thinking like me, which IS kinda cool.

Does this mean I get to be as sensible as you soon? Or as elegant, or anything good?

After the pep talk this morning peeps, I emailed a few cleaners. I think its clear something has to give, and while I don't want it to be decisions we make together, or ways we believe are right to live, the obvious answer to more time and energy IS to outsource as
Lydia has been urging on this issue for sometime.

Its very frustrating to me, but if I can find some one who feels they can cope with state of house then this seems most sensible area to outsource.

I'm sure delousing could be helped by alcohol. I thought the trick was to comb hair with leave in conditioner every day for a week? Sympathies to you, at least with boys their hair is short. DS1 used to come home every Monday infected, turned out Monday was read-with-the-teacher day and the teachers long hair was spreading the blighters around the class.

Must say that I had never heard of the dancing angels expression before this thread, not sure potential customers would automatically assume it was food related.

Why not import Dragon's Den to Oz?

I think alcohol could definitely make delousing more enjoyable, for the drinker at least!

I thought that dancing angels was a Gen phrase, one which has caught on here as it is so great? I like it as a name, but do also wonder about it not necessarily being not so obviously linked to food. Maybe it could be a tagline? I also like the idea of it being the even more special range.
On which note- Gen, your plans sounds great to me (for what that's worth). Wishing you every success in sharing the gift of yourcooking with others, and getting off the hamster wheel.

Sadly we are now stranded in Sarf East London for a few years more.

It also suits DS as his TC is now full on concentration and he stays at the GF in Clerkenwell part of the week and returns home for hotel services.....we are all loving living in our house now too.

I was born and brought up in Blackheath and now live (more or less) in Clerkenwell. We need to stop following each other about!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

So we came to a decision.

I'm going to sell posh ready meals and, if I can get away with it, sell them as hot food too at Farmers Markets. Target market is dual workers with kids and older people. I might also make and sell chutney etc as a bit of a side line from time-to-time.

Start at Farmers Markets but also sell online. Start off producing from home. Have recipes for all the products online to show that it really is all good wholesome food.

Oh joy oh joy...I love a new venture....:j Cannot wait for this to kick off.

The frozen thing is the big plus here as the hardest thing for any maker is to estimate production quantities.

I make x 500 and only sell 250 = meh seller as 50% sell through
    I make x 250 and sell 250 + I am genius as we sold out (!) 100 % sell through.
Same item....just a different production quantity.

Nice to know I would be welcome, fc! Alas, there's a particularly nasty deadline looming up around that time.

(To recap in brief: yes to funghi, greater herts, no romantic or professional involvement with science/scientists, not Jewish, owns house, wishes Gen best of luck with new venture, hopes LIR better soon, appreciates nice baby photo updates, lurks on NPT as work-avoidance wrt deadline mentioned above, possessed cat is doing fine thanks though still cross on occasion.)

All lurkers / Stalkers welcome. Get yourself organised and deliver early.....then you can come too :)

Slight snag is I haven't seen any further feedback on dates and whether coming to SE is preferable to a 3rd party meet up (ie; in a restaurant/bar).

If Gen is definitely coming over in Dec/ Jan...then he HAS to have a meet-up / do anyways.

Does anyone have any further thoughts?

A cultural trip ( http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/eltham-palace-and-gardens/) could be combined with food and a meet up

That's interesting. I'm relieved that you find it hard going to run a farm, run a business at the farm, renovate a dilapidated house, and have FIR do his very demanding professional work, all at the same time. It's an enormous workload for people in the very best of health.

We are very bad at joint decision making. We have ended up with pink sofas that neither of us like, because we were trying to please the other. It may be better to leave it up to one of you to make a particular decision. So, I think your idea of solo decisions makes sense. That's what we tend to do more now.

I often think the same....I mean......how do you both do it?

We make a lot of decisions together but have got used to delegating certain ones after being married for so long. Like holidays......he says, 'can we afford a holiday and when can we afford the time to go?'...I check the money (which is my dept) and reply yay or nay...and then choose the dates and choose the place.
He shows no interest until the day we leave most of the time.
