Son's dream pad is in the Clerkenwell area...however he is like one of those posters elsewhere on this board who feels that HPI has 'spoilt' his chances of 'owning' a roof top penthouse on a 1st year TC salary. As we have (patiently) explained to him...he CAN afford his own place...just not a glass clad, 2 bedroomed Clerkenwell penthouse at this point in his life. Also, no good going on about how cheap the area was 25 years ago as it wouldn't have been where he would have wanted to live back then either *sigh*.
Hmmm.....The expectations of the young *rolly eyes smiley*
Mind you I still wonder to this day how life would have panned out of we had bought the mini Span house in The Plantation on the Cator estate when we bought our current house. It was this one or that one...the price was on a par but it was microscopic. We went for space over location.
I would love to live within walking distance of the village.

After the pep talk this morning peeps, I emailed a few cleaners. I think its clear something has to give, and while I don't want it to be decisions we make together, or ways we believe are right to live, the obvious answer to more time and energy IS to outsource as
Lydia has been urging on this issue for sometime.
Its very frustrating to me, but if I can find some one who feels they can cope with state of house then this seems most sensible area to outsource.
Give one a try and see how it works out.....
Sorry to read about your fall Spirit...however, you are up and about which is a big improvement so it can only get better.:)0 -
Oh I'm definitely coming over: the tickets are booked and paid for. Arrive on 19/12 leave on 10/1 or thereabouts.
I have 6 things on my must do list and meeting the nice peeps is one of them. Actually 2 of them as I occasionally meet a nice person on the sly.
On reflection, Dancing angels is a me phrase and not one that I'll use for the business I think. It sounds too much like a strip club!0 -
Nice to know I would be welcome, fc! Alas, there's a particularly nasty deadline looming up around that time.
possessed cat is doing fine thanks though still cross on occasion.)
I sped past this, looked back and thought !!!!!!?
Your cat is possessed? The cat is fine but get's cross? You can't just skulk back into the shadows without explaining this sentence to the NPT.;)chewmylegoff wrote: »Just back from a week in Cyprus- probably our last holiday for a while I imagine. We didn't leave the hotel grounds and just rotted by the pool (under an umbrella as both of is burn within 8 seconds of going in the sun).
One thing I have resolved is that I will not be allowing my children to play with their ipad on an aeroplane without headphones on. Must be about the most annoying thing ever.
There was a couple with twins who looked about 2 (+ a newborn) on our way back. With about an hour to go, the mum was just staring out the window muttering to herself and trying to pretend the screaming wasn't happening and the dad was just sitting there with his head in his hands, rocking as much as his economy seat pitch would allow! I guess that's my life from now on, except worse as OH wants to fly them to Oz every six months. I reckon she'll acquiesce after the first time we try it!
We flew once with DD when she as 1 (and then only to Cyprus)...never again. She hated the flight (as her ears popped I think), wouldn't sleep and whinged / cried the entire time.
The hols following we did the camping in France and she loved a ferry trip. We didn't fly again with her until she got to about 6 I think.
Best to wait until they arrive and see the lie of the land STS0 -

Cool
Hopefully we can select a suitable date for everyone over the few weeks (or sooner).0 -

The 3noms might put you at the start of any list. And there did use to be a band called "the three Johns"There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

My DD's never had them. Let kids be kids, not kids pretending to be adults.💙💛 💔0 -

Luckily DD has never been a girly girl; nor was I. My niece had one of those gross styling heads http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9363456.htm which would really freak me out if I had to live in the same house as it! Mind you, my niece is 19 going on 9 and probably still plays with it. Yuk.0 -
We're at the club as usual on a Sunday avo and this week it's 2x $25 supermarket vouchers from a $30 stake.0
