Used car - broken down after 2 days!!!

I see from your original thread that you bought on a credit card, so that is an alternative means of redress for you:

A 4 year old vehicle should not experience clutch failure and it's difficult to see how the garage could reasonably blame you for causing that damage within 48 hours of purchase. You had the hire care from the breakdown company for 5 days and presumably the clutch on that one didn't break.
You can choose to go straight to the credit card provider under Section 75 but it can be easier if you simply get a solution from the supplier. If you can't get anywhere, I'd then approach the credit card provider.0 -
Read the thread. The OP has had the car repaired, at zero cost. It's the price of a taxi that's being argued about here. The supplier has zero SOGA responsibility for that, and the OP has no grounds to dispute it with the card provider, since there's no quibble over the actual taxi ride.I see from your original thread that you bought on a credit card, so that is an alternative means of redress for you:0 -
Parking isn't an extra cost, all you've lost is potential to save this cost by being in garage.
You now have a second hand car with brand new clutch and flywheel, as opposed to one maybe half worn or more like most of us.
This has to be worth the price of the taxi.
You have gained and lost, it balances out

You'd have had to pay for the airport parking whether you had the car or not - so you can't get that reimbursed purely because you didn't use it because the car was in a garage.0 -

Thanks and apologies, I didn't read the original thread as thoroughly as I thought.
I've merged the two threads together as both are on the same topic.0 -

Surely you can claim some luncheon vouchers as recompense?
Maybe you need a week away if that is your only response! Finally debt free and loving it!0 -

What's the breakdown of costs you're actually pursuing?0

Hello
Just a little over £150. Taxi from airport to partners house in bury plus train, tram and a taxi the other end.

I would also cut my losses and put it down to experience, no point getting any more stressed over it
you would have incurred some extra costs if you had been using the car so when you deduct that from the amount plus the betterment of the new clutch
your claim for expenses is nothing to do with mitsubishi it would be the selling dealer, and when you consider that they weren't even going to cover the cost of repairs they are hardly likely to cover any expense without a fight
I know you have had to fight them all the way but in the end you had the car repaired so maybe time to just move on0
